At Fora, we’re building a community that welcomes all voices, passions and pursuits. As a new kind of travel agency, we’re all about proactive inclusivity — which is why we’re thrilled to join IGLTA, the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association.
Founded in 1983, IGLTA provides resources and tools to empower LGBTQ+ travelers worldwide. Their global network of LGBTQ+ tourism businesses — from tour operators to hotels — spans 80+ countries, as part of their mission to “promote equality and safety within LGBTQ+ tourism worldwide.”
“Fora was founded on the need for a more inclusive travel industry,” said Fora co-founder Henley Vazquez. “Joining IGLTA is an important step in our mission to welcome more voices into our travel community.”
Fora’s Head of Training & Development, Ross Thomason, echoed the importance of promoting LGBTQ+-friendly destinations.
“As someone who identifies as gay, there is a palpable difference for me as a traveler when I visit a destination that is LGBTQ+ inclusive,” he said.
“The sense of welcome and safety that accompanies cities, accommodations and businesses that celebrate LGBTQ+ travelers makes a significant difference in where I choose to plan travel for myself and others,” Ross added. “As travelers, we support economies and local businesses in every destination we visit. To do so within the IGLTA global network is even more powerful.”
