Curator’s statement
The recently opened EDITION in Singapore near Orchard Road seamlessly blends modern design with Asian hospitality. The hotel offers a variety of outdoor spaces, including lush gardens and a rooftop pool with a bar. I stayed in the spacious garden-view Superior King room (38-43m2/409-462 sqft), which featured stunning views of the internal gardens, a stylish bathtub, a shower and a double sink.

Vibe and crowd
Upon entering The Singapore EDITION, guests are greeted by tropical plants in a sleek white hallway with a dramatic round staircase. A serene indoor garden at the back provides a peaceful retreat with white sofas, while the pink bar and pool table to the left create a lively spot for drinks and socializing. The crowd here consists of EDITION fans, creatives and those who appreciate its unique mix of art, music and fashion.
Rooms
The 204 rooms are both spacious and modern, with a warm and inviting ambiance. They include Le Labo bath amenities, electronically adjustable sheer curtains, blackout shades and external louvers to control sunlight and views. My room featured a delightful welcome amenity: a chocolate sculpture inspired by a piece in the nearby Botanic Gardens, depicting a woman’s face surrounded by chocolate vines and colorful butterflies.
Food
Dining options at the property include signature restaurant FYSH on the ground floor and a rooftop bar. Breakfast at FYSH offers a buffet of hot and cold items along with à la carte choices. The Lobby Bar serves expertly crafted cocktails inspired by scents such as tuberose, ylang-ylang, bergamot and shiso leaf, along with a selection of wines and teas. The Punch Room, a speakeasy-style bar in Yves-Klein blue, offers locally-inspired punch bowls like the popular Bukit Merah Punch, a blend of gin, mezcal, tamarind and banana inspired by local folklore.
Amenities
The Singapore EDITION features a renowned rooftop pool with a glass bottom that offers unique views of the garden below. Sunscreen is provided, and the rooftop bar also serves the pool area. The pool is family-friendly and long enough for laps. The second floor houses a well-equipped gym with TechnoGym machines, free weights and kettlebells. The spa offers thermal pools, an ice fountain, sauna, steam rooms, treatment rooms and a serene relaxation lounge.
Sustainability
The Singapore EDITION embodies modern luxury with a strong commitment to sustainability. From the custom Le Labo scent in the hallways to the zero-waste bar in the lobby, every aspect of the hotel reflects a sophisticated, eco-conscious ethos. They reduce food waste by curating breakfast options based on data and guest feedback, offering a personalized and sustainable dining experience.
Chef Josh Niland, known for his sustainable approach, provides a dining experience at FYSH that is both delicious and mindful. By utilizing 95% of the fish, Niland showcases his dedication to reducing waste while elevating the guest experience with innovative, sustainable cuisine.
