1. For the 90s Country Pop Champions of Girl Power:

Shania Twain at the Bakkt Theater (Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino) – Dec 4, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14.

Let’s go girls! May 2024 kicks off Shania Twain’s latest Vegas residency "Come on Over," a namesake to her record-breaking 1997 best-selling studio album of all time by a female artist. Her residency wraps up in December, so not only will she have perfected her performance by then, she’ll also have that much more gusto and passion in her last six performances. Given the residency is billed as "All The Hits!," you’re guaranteed a setlist that won’t disappoint. For affordable glam and proximity to the theater, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is the perfect choice for your accommodations.

2. For the Trap Queens & Hip Hop Kings of the 2010s:

Metro Boomin at LIV Nightclub (Fontainebleau) – Dec 7.

As one of the most influential and successful producers in hip hop, Metro Boomin’ is behind several chart-topping singles that set the tone for a night out Vegas-style. From Migos’ "Bad & Boujee" to Drake’s "Jumpman," and Future’s "Mask Off," you’ll be working the dancefloor like it’s 2017. Bonus — his beats will be bumping loud in the club, so you can sing along to your favorite jams without anyone hearing you 😉. Just like it’s Miami counterpart, LIV is located in the Fontainebleau Hotel. For both convenience & easy access to the Las Vegas strip, staying at the Fontainebleau is the optimal choice for this event.

3. For the Country Music Cowboys & Cowgirls:

a. Garth Brooks at the Colosseum (Caesars Palace) – Dec 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 19, 21, 22.

Though it’s a little early for promoters & venues to have announced their December shows, I’ve got to hand it to the country music scene for being on top of the game. There are quite a few country concerts already booked and on sale for December, including classic country music star, Garth Brooks, at the Caesars Palace Colosseum. His "Plus ONE" residency at Caesars started in May of last year, and is running through December 22, 2024. Given this event takes place in Caesars Palace (yes, THE Caesars Palace), staying at Caesars is a great option for both convenience & luxury.

b. George Strait with Christ Stapleton, and Little Big Town at Allegiant Stadium – Dec 7

If you’re more drawn to contemporary country stars along with a legend, you may be interested in seeing George Strait, Christ Stapleton and Little Big Town perform at Allegiant Stadium on December 7th. The stadium is located at 3333 Al Davis Way, which is adjacent to the Strip and can be easily accessed from Mandalay Bay. This makes Mandalay Bay one of the most apropos places to stay if you're attending an event at the stadium, as you can either walk or take a short drive to get there. Additionally, there are pedestrian-friendly routes and shuttle services that further facilitate easy access between the two locations.

4. For the 70’s & 80’s Arena Rock Groupies: Heart at the Bleaulive Theater (Fontainebleau) – Dec 15

The iconic sister duo & accompanying band, fronted by one of the most unique and powerful voices in rock history, heads to Vegas this December. As the last stop of their 2024 tour, this show will be packed with all the more energy and fervor. Join Ann Wilson in belting out chart-topping hits such as, "Barracuda," "Alone," and "Crazy on You." I’m hyping myself up just typing this – I may need to tag along! Given this event takes place at the Fontainebleau, your best bet (pun somewhat intended) is to stay onsite.

5. For the "What Happens in Vegas…" Party Crowd:

Calvin Harris at LIV (Fontainebleau) – Dec 29

As one of this generation’s most talented producers, Calvin Harris is synonymous with club hits. A testament to his popularity, Harris is Las Vegas’ only electronic act already announced AND on sale 7 months in advance! Kick off your 2025 New Year’s Eve celebrations with one of dance music’s most recognized DJs, as you dance along to "This is what you Came for," "Feel so Close," and "Blame," to name a few! Do yourself a favor and stay at the Fontainebleau, so you won’t be stuck on delayed waits and surge pricing at an hour of the morning no one can judge you for — because it’s Vegas, baby!

6. For the House Heads & Techno Snobs:

Last year marked the debut of Insomniac’s New Years Eve festival in Las Vegas, "Forever Midnight." Though it hasn’t been announced yet for 2024, one can only hope they’ll bring the festival back for year 2. Last year’s event featured house and techno legends such as Eric Prydz, Solomun and Nicole Moudaber, as well as some of my personal favorite artists — Tinlicker, Sofi Tukker, & the Martinez Brothers. No one knows how to throw a party quite like Insomniac, so if "Forever Midnight" does return for 2024, you better get on those tickets fast! If the event returns at LV Festpark, plan to stay nearby at Resorts World, one of the Strip’s hottest new hotels.

7. For the Bucket List Concert Enthusiast: TBA at the Sphere

Without a doubt, the most talked about attraction in Vegas these days is Madison Square Garden's $2.3 Billion venue, the Sphere. The Sphere opened its doors last fall, kicking off the unparalleled visual experience with Irish rock legends, U2. Following the band’s 40 show residency, Phish did a quick & timely four-show run surrounding 4/20, and now Dead & Co has taken the stage. At the time of this article, Dead & Co’s residency is set to end mid-July, with no other acts having been announced. However, given the venue’s massive investment and state of the art audiovisual features, one can presume they will have roster of top tier artists for years to come (until something bigger and better implements even more exciting tech that renders them obsolete). All that to say, it’s safe to assume that there will be another exceptional act announced for the latter half of the year any day now. The Sphere is located at the Palazzo, though you can stay either at the Venetian or the Palazzo with an easily accessible throughway to the holy grail of concert venues.

Need to know

1. Use a travel advisor (like me!) for a destination experience such as a concert. Not only am I able to get you perks with your hotel stay (for instance, a room upgrade or hotel credit), but I might also be able to work with the hotel on a discounted room and/or concert ticket bundle, especially if you are staying in the same hotel as the venue locale.

2. Staying at the hotel where the concert is located is not only convenient, but you’ll also be surrounded by tons of other fans that are in Las Vegas just for the concert. It’s a unique & exciting experience walking around the hotel / casino and bumping into like-minded fans emblazoned in old-school memorabilia.

3. Airbnbs & short-term rentals are illegal in Clark County, Nevada (where metropolitan Las Vegas is located). If you are thinking of skipping the hotel & casino experience and find a great deal on an Airbnb close to the strip, not only is it too good to be true, it’s likely to fall through at the last minute when authorities make the same discovery, rendering you homeless for the weekend. The most secure & reliable route (not to mention: *legal*), are the hotel recommendations aforementioned in this article.

4. If this is your first time in Vegas, or you haven’t been there in awhile, don’t overstay. Las Vegas is really exciting, but you will start to feel really dirty and depressed staying there for more than a few days. The shimmering lights that dazzled you when you first arrived will quickly become overstimulating, and you’ll soon start to contemplate the meaning of life.
