I vacationed at the beautiful Atelier Playa Mujeres while visiting Riviera Maya, Mexico. This resort is unlike your typical all-inclusive resort, because the food and cocktails are truly divine. The menu options have a wide variety and include premium ingredients. The beachfront property also has vast greens for golfing, a spa, and group workout classes for those who are more wellness-focused. I highly recommend this resort to my clients, and look forward to staying here again myself.

Overview

This resort is located within the luxurious Playa Mujeres complex, 25 minutes from downtown Cancun or about 45 minutes from the Cancun Airport. Stays at Atelier Playa Mujeres include access to the beach, pools, gym, gallery, daytime and nighttime activities and unlimited food and beverages at their 20+ restaurants and bars.

Of the many restaurants my favorite was El Suspiro which had an assortment of international dishes with a fish/seafood focus. The Caribbean lobster and grilled octopus were meals I returned for more than once. Honorable mention is the Italian restaurant Cilento that features handmade pasta and pizzas.

Need to know

Atelier Playa Mujeres is best suited for groups of friends, families with adult children (16+) and honeymooners. The resort offers a more relaxing and luxurious experience, so I would not recommend it to someone who is looking for more of a party vibe. Also, because of the location in Playa Mujeres, many excursions like cenotes or touring Chicen Itza are quite far away, but there are plenty of nearby offerings including snorkeling and catamaran tours around Isla Mujeres.
