Curator’s statement
I’ve just returned from an incredible trip to Andalusia, and enjoyed a magical stay at Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Madrid. I had the pleasure of touring the spectacular space, and would highly recommend it to clients!

The former home of the Duke of Santo Mauro, the 5-star property boasts French-influenced design and architecture. The common space retains its original interior design. The details are unique, such as the Modernist staircase in the entrance hall, a small oval courtyard, an old chapel and the Duke's library.
The sunny private garden was perfect for a quiet cup of coffee or snack, and the Duke’s former library provided the perfect serene setting for breakfast. A cocktail at the stunning bar was a lovely way to start the evening, before heading out to dinner.
I had the pleasure of touring two of the suites–each with unique design elements, and influences from the 19th century.
The palace is well-located in the neighborhood known as the Golden Triangle, a popular location for aristocratic residences, embassies, and high-end restaurants and galleries.
Topping off the sensational design, the service was top-notch. After an overnight flight, we arrived at the property very early in the morning. We were thrilled to find our rooms ready for us, which allowed us to rest and freshen up before enjoying our day. The check in/check out process was seamless. Also, the concierge went above and beyond to secure restaurant reservations, offer recommendations on what to do and see and help arrange transportation.
