Hotel Review: Edgewood Tahoe Resort
Curator’s statement

For those not familiar with Lake Tahoe area, the lake actually sits right in between California and Nevada. Edgewood is on the Nevada side, about a 3.5-4 hour drive from San Francisco, and with the nearest airport being Reno, Nevada (RNO), which is a 1 hour drive to Edgewood.

The South side of the lake where Edgewood is located is a busier area (compared to North Lake area that has more of a ski-town vibe) with many large scale casinos and hotels (so think Harrahs, Bally's, etc) however Edgewood is very secluded, set away in the trees and right on the lake, is a non smoking property and does not have a casino on site.

Edgewood currently offers 154 luxurious rooms and suites, in addition to a new development (2022) the Villa Suites. These Villas are adjacent to the main lodge and offer 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedrooms. Not all Villas are open/fully built yet, but there is availability for most. These villas are awesome for groups, families, weddings, etc! The one I toured was a five-bedroom (+ a bonus game room) with a full operating kitchen, large outdoor jacuzzi and outdoor dining area and BBQ, so gorgeous!

room with a view

The main lodge offers gorgeous rooms and suites, all over 500 SQ ft and with a fire place and balconies. The lake view rooms are by far superior (the view alone is worth $$$!) but each are fully equipped with everything your clients would need and expect of a luxury hotel.

Edgewood also has a 8,500-square-foot Spa and award-winning 18-hole championship golf course (If you have ever seen the celebrity golf tournament on TV, its held here every year!) along with a wide array of dining (three restaurants and coffee shop on site), shopping (Women's boutique, Golf Shop and Ski Shop).

In terms of activities — there is something for the whole family all year around!

In Winter: sleigh rides, ski shuttles to Heavenly Ski Resort and boot fittings on site in their ski shop, nightly S'mores at the fire pit (all year around!), ice skating rink and snow-shoeing.

In Summer: private beach and pool, parasailing, boating (they just signed a deal with Mastercraft boats that will be offered on property for rental/day use) stand up paddle boards, golfing, hiking and more.

I've personally stayed here twice in the past with my family (once in Summer and once in Winter) and you really can't go wrong here for a taste of luxury in the mountains by the lake, equal parts beauty and the outdoors. It's what Lake Tahoe is all about!
