Le Mount Stephen is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Montreal’s Golden Square Mile, one of the city’s most prestigious neighborhoods. From the moment you step inside, the mansion’s historical architecture immediately captivates you with its old-world charm and intricate details. However, as you move deeper into the hotel, there’s a seamless transition to a more modern, contemporary design. This juxtaposition of decor creates a unique and striking ambiance, blending the best of both worlds.
During my stay at Le Mount Stephen, I had the pleasure of experiencing one of their Junior Suites, which offered an exceptional level of luxury and space. This suite provides approximately 680 square feet of well-appointed living space, perfect for both relaxation and work. The décor seamlessly combines modern aesthetics, featuring elegant furnishings, high ceilings and expansive windows that fill the room with natural light. The comfortable king-size bed, plush bedding and thoughtful amenities such as a large work desk and a cozy sofa-bed make it a true home away from home. The state-of-the-art bathroom, with its double-sink vanity and chromotherapy rainforest shower, was a highlight of the suite. It offers a serene retreat at the end of a busy day exploring Montreal.
At Bar George, breakfast is a delightful experience, offering a menu filled with delicious options. For breakfast at Bar George, I had the pleasure of indulging in their delightful Omelette Forestière. Filled with tender mushrooms, crispy bacon, caramelized onions and melted cheddar, it was a perfect blend of flavors. The dish was expertly prepared and served with duck-fat potatoes, making for a satisfying start to the day. The atmosphere at Bar George for breakfast is casual yet chic. It features inviting wood-paneled walls, plush seating and soft lighting creating a relaxed and welcoming environment.
As the day turned to evening, Bar George transformed into a vibrant hub of activity, perfect for unwinding after exploring Montreal. The bar’s atmosphere is buzzing with energy, filled with the sounds of clinking glasses and lively conversations. The décor, with its rich wood paneling and elegant lighting, sets a stylish backdrop for a night out. The cocktail menu offers a fantastic selection of creative drinks, with standout options like their bold Bloody Caesar and the festive George’s Eggnog. Each cocktail is a thoughtfully crafted experience, blending quality spirits with fresh, homegrown ingredients. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic cocktail or something new and inventive, Bar George delivers a perfect evening vibe in a beautiful setting.
For those looking to relax and recharge, the hotel’s spa offers a variety of treatments in a serene, luxurious setting. The fitness center is well-equipped, and guests have complimentary access to the nearby athletic club, which features an indoor pool and a full range of exercise equipment.
