After seeing all the buzz about Virgin Voyages on social media and on travel websites, I figured it was a brand that would align with my travel personality. And after taking my first voyage in 2023, I was hooked! I knew this would be a cruise line that my friends, family and clients would love, so I decided to plan a group sailing with an "Adult Spring Break" theme. What better way to encourage adults to kick back, relax and have some fun than to sail on an adults-only cruise line? Plus, Virgin Voyages' Beach Club at Bimini is 100% a spring break vibe all on its own.

I chose the Fire and Sunset Soirées itinerary, with stops in Key West and Bimini, Bahamas. It's Virgin's shortest sailing option out of Miami, but I knew that *too* long of a group vacation could be too much... especially when it's a trip that leaves the kids behind. It was the perfect length to allow everyone to get a taste of Virgin Voyages and to explore two new ports.

Virgin Voyages refers to a group booking as a "Circle," and 10 cabins are required to be make a Circle. Once I got 10 cabins, I was able to work with Virgin's Sailor Services team to link all the cabins into the group. All of my clients were able to receive extra sailor loot (onboard credits) as a part of booking within my Circle. I was also able to coordinate a private happy hour for my group (additional $ - can be paid by group coordinator or charged to each sailor's folio) and a group dinner for our first night. Since I had a mixed group, I really wanted to make sure everyone became familiar with each other on the first day so they could recognize each other as we traveled the rest of the trip. I also wanted to reserve the first night for group activities and allow everyone do to their own thing for the rest of the trip, as a Virgin Voyages cruise is truly a "choose your own adventure" vacation!

I think that Virgin Voyages is a perfect option for planning an adult group trip - whether you're planning a bachelor/bachelorette trip, family or class reunion, company trip, or if you just have a group that wants to vacation together. The booking and Circle process was very easy to navigate, and even easier when working with a travel agent (like me!) to help with all the final details. Plus, for every 10 rooms booked, you can get a complimentary room. That's the perfect reward for the group coordinator leading the trip!

Need to know

Virgin Voyages requires at least 10 cabins to be a Circle, their term for a group. You can form a Circle up to 14 days before your sailing, which is great if you have last-minute joiners who can also receive the perks. Circles can include a maximum of 150 sailors.

There is a Circles team that will assist once all Circle bookings are paid in full, 120 days from the voyage date. As your travel advisor, I'll work with the Circles team to put in your requests: anything from private cocktail parties, to group dinners, to group shore excursions.

Each sailor in the Circle receives additional sailor loot (onboard credit) based on their cabin type. Sailor loot can be used for premium beverages, onboard shopping, spa services and more!
