Loved this Smart Modern Siglo Hotel in the Heart of Siglufjordur, Iceland
Curator’s statement

Just a beautiful hotel out in the middle of nowhere really, a small fishing village. The drive in both directions is stunning one of the prettiest in our 30-day adventure around Iceland.

We stayed for two nights and greatly enjoyed our visit!

I loved the hot pot in front of the hotel. It was a perfect size to relax in with a sauna nearby to go back and forth to.

Lovely restaurant — the buffet breakfast was delicious and varied.

I recommend the superior room on the second floor overlooking the busy harbor with all of its activity.

The bed was very comfortable. We slept well.

There is a cozy bar area for relaxing and intimate conversation.

Helpful and friendly staff.

The hotel is centrally located. The Herring museum is nearby and is a "must see" or better yet, it must be "experienced". It was very informative and interactive and takes you back in time when herring was plentiful and the "backbone" of the economy. It was most interesting as we herring fished in Alaska at one time. It was one of the most fascinating museums I have been too. It was very well laid out and user friendly.

I wish we could have stayed longer!

I highly recommend this "luxury" hotel in Siglo Iceland.

Need to know

Siglo is a little town in Northern Iceland but it does not receive as many visitors as the western and southern areas however to those who are adventurous and want to "see what's around the next corner" Siglo is a treasure! The mountainous landscape around it is stunning!
