Curator’s statement
Last fall, I had the chance to visit the incredible Hotel Lutetia — the only five-star luxury hotel located on Paris' Left Bank. This property is absolutely stunning, with a fascinating detail: they used so much marble during its renovation that the foundation had to be reinforced to prevent it from sinking!
From the moment you step into the lobby, the impeccable service from the staff makes you feel genuinely welcome. The concierge is attentive and quick to offer excellent recommendations for local cuisine and activities, ensuring your stay is seamless. And, of course, the rooms — opulent, comfortable and surprisingly spacious — are everything you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber.
When I return to Paris, there’s no question that I’ll be staying at the Lutetia again. It’s truly a standout experience on the Left Bank.

This was truly one of the top luxury hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. The attention to detail started even before check-in—the hotel was incredibly communicative and helped arrange seamless arrival transportation from the Eurostar.

The concierge team went above and beyond, guiding us to incredible dining options, including Les Antiquaires, where the beef bourguignon was simply unforgettable! Our room was sleek and modern, with a thoughtful touch that took my breath away: our initials embroidered on the pillowcases. As if that weren’t enough, we were greeted with a signature creation from their pastry chef—an adorable dog made entirely of chocolate!

Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight, offering a fantastic buffet of fresh pastries, butter, baguettes, and hot chocolate that I still dream about. Transit was a breeze, with a station just across the street, connecting us to all the wonders of Paris. And for shopping enthusiasts, Le Bon Marché and La Grande Épicerie de Paris are just a short walk away, perfect for high-end shopping and the best local food (don’t skip the iconic butter—it makes a fabulous gift!).

Need to know
If you’re looking for a luxury stay in Paris that’s not in the thick of downtown but still effortlessly connected to everything the city has to offer, Hotel Lutetia is a perfect choice. Located on the Left Bank in the sophisticated Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, this hotel has a charm and character that’s hard to match.
Here’s why it’s a standout:
Shopping and Dining Galore: It’s steps away from Le Bon Marché (a must-visit for any shopping enthusiast) and surrounded by some of the city’s best cafés, boutiques and local restaurants. You’ll feel like a true Parisian wandering these streets.
Easy Access to Key Locations: With nearby metro connections, you can seamlessly visit Paris’ top landmarks — think the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Notre Dame — all while returning to the calm and elegance of the Left Bank.
Unforgettable Dining: The hotel’s Michelin-starred Brasserie Lutetia is an experience, with incredible food in a setting that feels both refined and welcoming.
A Unique Parisian Perspective: Staying here is about more than luxury — it’s about history, art and being part of the soul of the Left Bank. Whether you’re enjoying a cocktail at Bar Joséphine or unwinding in their spa, it’s all about savoring the moment.
Perfect for a Peaceful Retreat: It’s ideal for travelers who love the idea of staying somewhere sophisticated, surrounded by local culture, but just removed enough from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Hotel Lutetia isn’t just a place to stay — it’s part of the Parisian experience. If you want a luxurious yet authentic slice of the city, I can’t recommend it enough.
