Ellenborough Park, A Luxe Home Base While Exploring the Cotswolds
Curator’s statement

In December of 2023, I visited England for the holidays and stayed at Ellenborough Park. The attentive staff and beautiful grounds made it the perfect respite after full days touring the neighboring Cotswolds. I would recommend this property to my clients who are looking for a quiet but luxurious getaway after exploring all that London and Oxford have to offer.

Location:

Ellenborough Park is located in Cheltenham, a town best known for their racecourse, which can be seen in the distance from the property. It sits to the south of the beautiful Cotswolds region, making it perfect for arranging private tours (many of which will pick you up right from the property). The best way to get here is by taking the train from London or Oxford to Cheltenham, which lets you enjoy the scenic countryside along the way. A taxi can be arranged to take you to the property and is about a 15-minute drive.

The Property:

Ellenborough Park is a beautiful country manor house sitting on beautiful green acres of land where you can take long scenic walks. You'll see locals walking with their dogs, enjoying the sweeping fields each morning. Book a treatment at their on-site Spa or cozy up to the fire in their great room while enjoying afternoon tea. Trust me, you won't want to miss their beautiful tea display and delicious sweets.

Activities and Dining:

There are two main restaurants on the property and a cocktail/wine bar. Afternoon tea is served in the Great Room and is not to be missed. Breakfast was an impressive continental spread with a-la-carte menu options as well.

Need to know

I recommend the tower room, which is only accessible by a narrow winding staircase up to the top of the manor. From here, you will have incredible views of the racecourses and sloping fields to the sides of the property. If accessibility is an issue, fear not all of the rooms at Ellenborough Park are uniquely decorated with luxe amenities.
