Curator’s statement
Las Vegas, Nevada is an iconic destination for fun in the desert sun, and you can dial it up or down as you wish! In September of 2024, I stayed at and did a Site Inspection while staying at the Wynn, Las Vegas. The Wynn and Encore (its hip younger sister) in Las Vegas redefine luxury, making them the ultimate choice for a truly unforgettable special occasion. I’m also obsessed with Delilah - their dinner service and show are glamorous and world-class.

Vibe:
The Wynn’s iconic lobby and furnishings, elevators and thoroughfares are very modern and classy, with floral and butterfly themes, lots of gold and red, without being glitzy or tacky. The Encore’s lobby is a bit more understated and intimate. There were ample elevators, restaurants and space so that it felt like there was plenty of room and options without being overwhelming.
Who this is a good fit for:
Both hotels are ideal for couples, friend trips, groups or solo travel for special occasions or celebrations. I would probably not recommend this for family travel due to the cigarette smoke in the casino areas, and because there isn’t much for kids to do. There was a very visible security force present, and key card checks for guest elevators in the lobbies, so I felt very safe as a solo female traveler.
Rooms:
In terms of views and amenities, there are Strip views from the 30th floor and up; the Sphere is not visible from the Strip-view rooms. I was impressed with the comfy bedding, generous bathroom and range of snacks and beverages available in the minibar; there is no in-room hot coffee/tea. My Wynn Resort 1 King room was at the “bottom” as one of the worst rooms and it was absolutely lovely - the bathroom in particular was quite generous.
All Wynn and Encore room settings are controlled by Alexa and in-room tablets. You are able to personalize your temperature, alarm settings, lighting etc.
Amenities: The onsite Fitness Center is compact but clean, state of the art and never appeared full whenever I walked by. They also have a full spa with offerings, as well as IV drips for those gearing up for a night out (or recovering!). The pool is both longer and larger than it looks in photos and is definitely an adults’ lounge to see and be seen pool. I did see a number of lifeguards and one younger family, but again, this is more of a hotel for adults.
Dining: Over the course of a week, I tried several dining venues for a variety of meals and recommend the following:
Caffe El Teatro for coffee, breakfast on the go, pastries, gelato, etc. Pro tip: you can also order a limited range of their offerings 24/7 for pick up from your in-room tablet.
Urth Caffe for a fast casual breakfast or lunch - for healthy and delicious quick eats. Do not miss their Salad Nicoise!
Little Bubble Bar for a quiet and sophisticated happy hour or late night cocktails and bar bites. If you can’t get a reservation, you can catch the show from the bar, which is upstairs from the main restaurant.
Delilah for a special upscale dinner – I was fortunate enough to dine there several times for drinks and dinners, and had an incredibly special experience at the retro supper club. The service, food and experience are top-notch. Don’t miss the “Slip of the Tongue” cocktail, Spicy Tuna Tartare, Branzino, Ribeye steak and Macaroni Gratinee were standouts. It’s difficult to get a reservation here, so dress up and book early! They also offer late-night dining too.
Need to know
I would absolutely stay at the Wynn again and hope to in the future. If I did bring a young family or desired privacy/anonymity, I would prefer a Tower Suite in the Encore as it is more spacious and private. The other reason is the Encore Tower Suites’ have their own private drop off entrance, small reception area and elevators right there. You can enter/exit and take the elevators up without having to walk through the smoky casino area.
