Curator’s statement
In February 2024, I had the pleasure to visit the Palihotel Seattle for a site visit. I had the opportunity to tour a selection of the hotel’s 96 guest rooms, enjoy lunch at The Hart and The Hunter restaurant and spend the afternoon in the cozy lobby lounge. I recommend the Palihotel for any traveler who wants to be in the heart of the action, as the Palihotel is conveniently located across the street from Seattle’s famous Pike Place market and scenic waterfront — perfect for those who want to be out and about and enjoy a true Pacific Northwest experience.

Palihotel Seattle is located in the heart of downtown, about 20 minutes north of the airport (without traffic). Its central location gives guests access to many Seattle attractions within walking distance: Pike Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Aquarium and Waterfront Park. It’s also less than a mile from Seattle Center, where you can visit the Space Needle and Museum of Pop Culture. Palihotel also offers 24-hour concierge services for those who would like curated recommendations for what to see and where to eat in the area.
The hotel and its guest rooms have a warm, eclectic design with Smeg appliances and bright green bathroom tiles. The hotel is in a nationally registered historic building, and the decor pays homage to the Pacific Northwest style. There is a mix of room types available, including a unique bunk-style room that connects to a king room, perfect for families or friend groups who are open to this fun sharing style. When you want to get out of your room but stay in from the rain, the lobby lounge has a cozy library feel with a fireplace. It’s a great place to relax and work, and it’s also available to rent out for receptions of up to 50 people. Traveling with your furry best friend? The Seattle property is pet-friendly, offering a Pawlisociety program where your pup will be treated with treats, a luxe dog bed and toys to enjoy during their stay.
When you stay at the Palihotel, you cannot miss the opportunity to dine at The Hart and The Hunter, the laid-back restaurant right off of the lobby. They serve all-day brunch and dinner of elevated comfort foods with local seafood as well. My gluten allergy prevented me from trying them, but I hear their world-famous biscuits with chile butter are a must-try! There are plenty of delicious gluten-free options on the menu, too, and I enjoyed the beet salad with salmon and would definitely eat it again. If you’re in town for work, they offer a great happy hour menu with local oysters and a cocktail of the day.
Need to know
As a Seattle resident, there’s nothing I love more than bringing visitors to this vibrant city for the first time. The Palihotel is a great choice for both first-time and frequent Seattle travelers who want easy access to all the major sites. It’s not the right choice for those who want a quiet getaway or don’t have interest in doing any sightseeing on foot. Reach out to me for help planning your next trip to Seattle!
