Curator’s statement
I've sailed twice on Virgin Voyages in a Sea Terrace room. For my third and most recent trip with a group, I wanted to experience a RockStar cabin. With my Sweet Aft Suite, I enjoyed additional perks before stepping onto the ship! If you're looking to sail on Virgin Voyages and want all the VIP hookups, a RockStar cabin is for you.

On Virgin Voyages, suites have two categories: RockStar Quarters and Mega RockStar Quarters. There are four types of RockStar Quarters: Brilliant Suites, Cheeky Corner Suites, Seriously Suites, and Sweet Aft Suites. And for Mega RockStar Quarters: there are Gorgeous Suites, Posh Suites, Fab Suites, and the Massive Suite (which is truly massive at 2,147 sq. ft.). Our Sweet Aft Suite was on deck eight, with the perfect view of the ship’s wake and constant entertainment from The Dock bar/outdoor space below us.
Pre-trip and boarding perks
Even before boarding, RockStar perks kick in. Suite-level sailors get early access to restaurant reservations and booking shore excursions before everyone else. Once it was time to sail, we were able to enter the port through the RockStar entrance and walked right up to a counter to get checked in. In less than 10 minutes, we were were inside the terminal and able to wait for boarding in the lounge with complimentary refreshments.
Onboard RockStar perks
After boarding, we were whisked to the Sip Lounge and greeted with champagne to meet with our RockStar Agent, Thandi. Thandi helped with finalizing onboard reservations for shows and our spa treatments (and was so helpful in cancelling said spa treatments after we got our days mixed up). Each day she’d check in with us, offering her help and tips on how to truly have a RockStar experience. As a travel agent who does this same type of work for my clients, it was really refreshing to have someone looking out for me while on vacation!
RockStar sailors also have access to Richard’s Rooftop, the exclusive outdoor lounge for suite-level guests. It was a spacious area to relax with an assortment of daybeds and hot tubs, a RockStar-only bar, and complimentary happy hour each day from 5-6 pm. And off the ship at the Bimini Beach Club, the RockStar Retreat offered a separate area with plenty of loungers & seating areas (both on the beach and elsewhere), an additional bar, and table side service for lunch.
Room perks
The RockStar Quarters have luxury in mind… from the spacious interiors and balconies to the marble bathrooms. Our in-room bar was stocked with 375ml bottles of gin, vodka, whiskey, tequila, and rum, and we were able to switch out any bottles we didn't prefer with our RockStar Agent. In addition, we had a small bottle of Moet, three different wines, and a few beers and mixers for cocktails. There are also no room service fees for RockStar cabins.
