Four Seasons Chicago
Looking for top-of-the line luxury accommodations with the service to match? Look no further than Four Seasons Chicago. Set in the heart of the Gold Coast with incredible lakefront and skyline views and direct access to the Magnificent Mile. I immediately felt swept away in the marble-clad lobby but was surprised by the relaxed feel of the lobby lounge and restaurant, Adorn. While all are bound to have amazing nights of slumber in their beautifully decorated rooms and suites, the real stand out at this property are the amenities. The Four Seasons Spa is absolutely next level! They have the city's largest indoor whirlpool and with an enormous skylight above the pool, it’s the perfect indoor-outdoor experience. Dreams do come true for all ages with the offering of an in-room or pool-side martini or ice cream cart! Truly the most special luxury Chicago property. Perfect for families with the large category of room offerings, an amazing couples retreat or a girlfriend spa and shopping getaway. The Four Seasons Chicago has something for everyone.
Park Hyatt
You can’t include a list of Chicago’s luxury hotels and not include the Park Hyatt. Its landmark location just steps from the famed Water Tower Park, is enough of a reason to add this to your hotel bucket list. Park Hyatt just recently went through an expansive renovation in July 2022, and the result is understated luxury. These rooms are a dream for anyone with a design eye like me. I love the new mindfulness suite offerings with Tonal fitness equipment and who doesn’t love a mini bar stocked with treats that scream Chicago. Luxury hotels are meant for fun but also for restful nights of sleep, and the addition of triple pane glass windows in such a busy area of the city is a perk most didn’t know they needed. I love the addition of all double vanities and separate showers and tubs in every room category with the renovation as well. Who doesn’t love a large luxurious bathroom?! Park Hyatt Chicago is also home to one of Chicago’s most loved outdoor restaurants, NoMi Kitchen. The restaurant and its open-air terrace, NoMI Garden located on the hotel's 7th floor, is always busy, but don’t worry, the hotel will always make sure to give guests a seat to enjoy. I still dream about the sushi and poke bowl offerings on the menu. A definite must stay for anyone visiting the city!
The Langham
My personal favorite location of all of the top luxury hotels in Chicago has to be the Langham. The location is breathtaking, situated right on the Chicago River with skyline and water views from floor-to-ceiling windows in every direction. Immediately upon approaching the entrance and seeing the adorable pink Langham car, you know you are in for a treat! The hotel's signature ginger flower scent welcomes you and all of your worries are gone! The Langham rooms are beautifully done, but the thing that makes this property so luxurious to me is the club level offerings. Located on the 12th floor is the Langham Club, which offers extra personalized service to those staying in club-level rooms or for an additional fee. There are all day food, drink and service offerings, including the famed afternoon tea from the comfort of several dining and living areas. It really is the perfect offering for families whose children need an early breakfast, all-day snacks or for a much needed parent pre-dinner cocktail. While Langham does luxury very well, it also does fun too. There is a private cinema suite available to rent, Paddington Bear afternoon tea and my personal favorite on my recent visit was the ice cream pop up shop on the riverwalk. The Langham would also be the perfect spot to take in the annual Chicago St. Patrick river dyeing in March.
The Peninsula Chicago
Probably the most international of the Chicago luxury hotels is the Peninsula Chicago. Guests will be surprised when they walk into the small lobby, take the elevator up and then discover the expansive size of the windows in the dining room off the lobby. There are several room offerings with Asian-inspired design including hand-embroidered wall coverings that really take the luxury up a notch. The Peninsula rooms offer top notch technology in every room which is unmatched. I was blown away to learn about “Peninsula time,” an all-company offering the earliest check-in time in the industry. Hotel guests can check in as early as 6am on the day of arrival with just a few days notice! After a long international flight, it doesn’t get any more luxurious than a hot shower! It offers hands down what I believe is the best spa and indoor pool in Chicago. A personal recommendation is to do a spa treatment, followed by lunch on the poolside outdoor terrace. Almost feels like you aren't even in the city! Perfect Chicago property for just about anyone, can’t think of a single reason you wouldn’t love it!
