Curator’s statement
We came to Pongwe after spending two days in Stonetown. Loved the expansive beach area with hammocks strewn about to relax in.

We stayed in a "suite" at the very end of the resort in a quiet area. The white powdery sand beach area was the best part of this stay. Restaurant was large with intimate areas to sit in and visit. We did a spice tour we arranged ourself with the taxi driver who brought us there. The pool was very nice to laze the day away in. The kayaks were fun to use. There was lots of sunny and shady spaces on the expansive beach.
Need to know
Zanzibar is a wonderful mix of culture, delicious food, history, winding lanes, traditions, stone buildings and of course the sparkling and warm Indian Ocean. We enjoyed our stay at Pongwe Beach after traveling on a independent trip through Namibia, South Africa and Tanzania.
