Christmas in Cabo: A Getaway at Vista Encantada Resort & Spa

Location

Perched on a cliffside between two coves, Vista Encantada Resort & Spa offers stunning panoramic views. From the property, you can gaze down the coastline toward downtown Cabo San Lucas and take in the iconic Arch.

While the resort does not have direct beach access, guests looking to spend time on the sand will need to visit a nearby beach. The hotel can arrange transport, or guests can take advantage of the complimentary shuttle that goes downtown, where they’ll find swimmable beaches and beachside activities.

Getting there

The resort is approximately 40 minutes from the airport, and the most convenient way to get there is via an airport transfer. This ensures a seamless experience, taking you straight from the airport to the resort’s front lobby for check-in.

First impressions

We arrived on Christmas Day, greeted by a grand Christmas tree in the lobby and festive holiday music setting the mood. As soon as we stepped out of our transport, we were welcomed with refreshing drinks. While check-in took a little longer than expected, the breathtaking views and cocktails made the wait feel effortless. Before long, we were escorted to our four-bedroom suite.

Atmosphere & right fit

The ambiance at Vista Encantada Resort & Spa strikes a perfect balance between relaxation and lively energy. During the day, the stunning ocean views and tranquil surroundings create a peaceful retreat, while in the evenings, the resort comes alive with live music and social gatherings.

For those looking to make the most of their stay, the resort offers an all-inclusive option, providing access to a variety of dining and amenities across its properties.

Vista Encantada caters to a wide range of travelers. Families will appreciate the kids' club and water playground designed for children, while adults seeking a more serene escape can unwind at the cliffside beach or exclusive adults-only pools. Whether you’re traveling as a family, a couple or a group, the resort offers a perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment.

Accommodations

Our four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom suite was spacious and well-appointed, featuring a full kitchen, dining area and living room — perfect for a group of couples, as each bedroom had its own en-suite bathroom.

The suite boasts two patios:

• A large terrace with a grill, dining table, loungers and a private plunge pool— ideal for gatherings and enjoying the sunset.

• A smaller, private patio off the master bedroom, offering a tranquil retreat.

The decor was vibrant and tastefully done, complementing the stunning ocean views.

Dining

We opted for the all-inclusive package, which exceeded our expectations with its variety and quality.

Our favorite dining experience was at Mestizo del Mar, the resort’s on-site restaurant. It serves breakfast daily and reopens for dinner in the evenings — we highly recommend the Surf & Turf.

Other standout dining options included:

• El Ático Rooftop Pool & Bar, offered some of the best lunches and drinks we had during our stay.

• Restaurants at the sister resort, such as El Patio, El Eden - Tequila Bar,and Il Forno — pizza, all conveniently located and offering delicious options.

Activities

Most of our time was spent relaxing in the resort’s many pools, with our favorite being the rooftop infinity pool at Vista Encantada. The resort also offers sand volleyball, tennis courts, putt putt, games and much more.

Beyond the resort, we explored Cabo:

• Deep-sea fishing — a memorable morning adventure for some of our group.

• Shuttle to downtown Cabo — a convenient way to experience the city and visit another sister resort.

• Glass-bottom boat tours and other excursions, which can be booked at the resort’s activities desk or pre-arranged before arrival.

For evening entertainment, the resort offered karaoke nights, which were a fun way to unwind, as well as live music at the lobby bar every evening, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere to end the night.

Spa & wellness

Luckily, with the all-inclusive package, guests get complimentary access to the spa amenities, making it easy to unwind and recharge. The spa is a calming and relaxing retreat, featuring separate facilities for men and women, each equipped with a hydrotherapy circuit such as : showers, a jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna for ultimate relaxation.

For a more serene experience, there’s also a shared open-air pool overlooking the ocean offering a perfect spot to soak and take in the breathtaking views. Guests can also indulge in massages, facials and other spa treatments, or visit the on-site nail salon for a little extra pampering.

This property and its sister resort are perched on the cliffs rather than directly on the beach. However, complimentary shuttles make it easy to reach downtown Cabo and another sister resort located near the beach. The staff here were exceptionally accommodating and friendly, always ready to assist with any questions. Their hospitality made our Christmas vacation both relaxing and memorable.
