Curator’s statement
I stayed at the Darcy for a night while taking a wine education class with Capital Wine School. Dupont Circle is one of my favorite DC areas. The Darcy Hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants and shopping. The Darcy has the most attentive staff and one of the warmest atmospheres I’ve stayed in. Their restaurant is truly luxurious and they make the best French 75 I’ve had so far in my life.

When you first arrive at The Darcy, you already shed the expectations of a chain hotel experience. They offer valet and you’re greeted by the smiling faces at the check-in counter.
The lobby was beautifully decorated and the bartender was definitely an industry professional. Sensation cocktails and unique appetizers such as scallop sashimi and the Korean crispy wings.

The room itself was far from expected. The decor mimicked what Audrey Hepburn might have liked with the bold colors and artwork. The room truly feels like a bedroom and not a sterile guest room.
The libby is warm and dimly lit in the evening, it really makes you feel like you’re in your well-decorated living room with a complimentary cocktail in hand curated for the season.

This hotel is also pet friendly with no pet fee with a pet under 75 lbs so you can snuggle up with your fuzzy baby and enjoy being within a 15 minute walk of the metro, as well as other classic DC spots like Tatte bakery and Barcelona Wine Bar.
Need to know
If you are looking for a warm, stylish experience from beginning to end, The Darcy is adorable and a very reasonably priced four-star hotel for the area. Perfect for couples or anyone just looking for a short city visit. The staff really make you feel like a valued guest but are genuine in doing so. There is also no pet fee for pets under 75 lbs which is rare!
