Two Night Stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Curator’s statement

On May 31st, 2024, I stayed with my 3 teenage children at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This is considered a Deluxe Category Resort located in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area. The resort's decor reminded me of the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Staff were all wonderful and provided exceptional customer service.

The Wilderness Lodge is located in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area, which means that you are only a fifteen-minute boat ride away from being dropped off right in front of the entrance to Magic Kingdom. The boat entrance is a 5-minute walk from the lobby. The resort has a glamping feeling to it. The lobby has tall ceilings with a large fireplace you can rest or gather in front of. My kids and I enjoyed the Mercantile shop in the lobby. It was a great place to purchase snacks and other Disney merchandise that was either sold out at the parks or limited to a specific park.

Although we didn’t have time to utilize the pool area, there were a good amount of kids enjoying the pool and water slide.

The Disney buses are to the right of the building as you face it from the front. The area has a couple of benches and shade. Buses come by every twenty minutes for your specific location. It was a fifteen-minute ride from the resort to Hollywood Studios. On the way back from Hollywood Studios, we accidentally took the Fort Wilderness bus, which took us to the campground. Make sure your bus says Wilderness Lodge, Settlement Pioneer Hall, Yellow.

On our last day, prior to making it to our 4pm flight home, we took the bus to and back from Disney Springs and that was a 30-minute ride. You can have your bags stored at the bell desk until you are ready to depart. This was actually done for us by Daisy Duck, which was a fun surprise.

Rooms

There are a variety of room options for Wilderness Lodge. Options include rooms, suites, club-level service, deluxe studios, 1-, 2- or 3-bedroom villas and 2-bedroom cabins.

We stayed in a resort view 2-queen bed room. It was clean, spacious and the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom included a large sink with a divider for the shower.

Need to know

The best part of this resort is its proximity to the Magic Kingdom. It is so convenient to ride the complimentary boat to the park. We left the park shortly before the fireworks started and we were able to watch some of the fireworks from our boat ride — once you get closer to the resort, the trees block the view from the dock. On certain days, you can time your boat ride to watch the Electrical Water Pageant.
