Curator’s statement
There are luxury hotels, and then there’s Le Sirenuse — the only hotel that has ever earned a flawless 5/5 stars from me. Every single thing about my stay here was incredible. The service, the decor, the insane views from every window and balcony — I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about the legendary Le Sirenuse.

Positano is truly magical to experience in person — it’s no surprise that people travel from all over the world to see it for themselves. For me, staying at Le Sirenuse and visiting Positano felt almost synonymous. You have probably seen it featured on every writeup about Positano and the Amalfi Coast. After sitting at the tippy top of my hotel bucket list for years, I simply had to experience it for myself.

When we booked Le Sirenuse, my husband and I had very high hopes for our stay. Regardless of your budget, I think most would agree that the price tag on this hotel is more than most would feel comfortable spending (€2500/nt during summer months). When you choose to “splurge,” your expectations are high and there can be deep dissatisfaction when an experience falls short. On the other hand, having your highest expectations exceeded is the best feeling in the world. Le Sirenuse is the only hotel that has ever done this for me (and I have been lucky enough to enjoy countless luxury hotels throughout my travels). While we did spend time thoroughly experiencing all that the area has to offer, we both agree that the best part of it all was our time spent here.

The hotel itself is a work of art. Perched above the iconic Positano coastline, its views are nothing short of a dream — each glance out the window feels like looking at a postcard. The design is classic and rich in character, with thoughtful attention to detail in every corner. Antiques, handcrafted tiles, gorgeous potted lemon trees and other curated touches fill the space.
Le Sirenuse manages to strike the elusive balance between impeccable service and a refreshingly unstuffy atmosphere. The staff is warm, professional and anticipatory, yet never overbearing. Instead, they make you feel at home in one of the most breathtaking settings imaginable. I have found that this balance is incredibly hard for luxury hotels to nail — being attentive and providing a luxury service, while also creating a sense of privacy (I hate being hovered over).

Each morning begins with an incredible breakfast buffet that sets a new standard for all breakfasts. Freshly baked pastries, perfectly ripened fruits and an impressive selection of local favorites make it a meal to linger over. But — the most magical dining experience happens in the evening at La Sponda. I am convinced this is the most romantic and scenic restaurant in the whole world. With a candlelit setting, impeccable cuisine and a band that serenades you as you dine, it transcends a mere meal — it is a true experience. This is something I try to book for all of my clients, however, staying at the property makes getting a table much easier.

Next door, Franco’s Bar provides an impeccable setting for an aperitivo, where the cocktails are as exceptional as the panoramic views. Be sure to arrive very early as there is a line out the door at all hours and they do not take reservations. If you’re in the mood to shop, the boutique across the street is a treasure trove of curated fashion and home goods. Reflecting the same effortless elegance that defines the hotel.

The hotel has a heated outdoor pool with stunning views of the colorful cliffside and ocean. They also offer an excellent cocktail and wine list. This area is also home to the spa area, which includes a sauna and steam room — perfect should you get hit with a quick drizzle of rain during your stay. You can also arrange an array of spa services here.
There are many luxury hotels in the world, but few possess the heart and soul of Le Sirenuse. It is a place where beauty, service and authenticity converge effortlessly. And for that, I will always return.
