Where to stay

Bretton Woods

Bretton Woods is located near Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast. The resort is consistently highly rated for the best snow and grooming around. It is New Hampshire's largest ski area with over 400 acres, terrain for all levels, and the area's only eight-person gondola. Take the gondola to the summit where you'll find Rosebrook Lodge, with many choices for dining and breathtaking views of the Presidential Range. Stay at the nearby Omni Mount Washington, where you can soak in the history and indulge in some après-ski at one of the many restaurants and bars, or enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub.

Loon Mountain

Loon Mountain is easily accessible from Boston, about a two-hour drive away. This, combined with the fact that it's part of the Ikon Pass, makes it one of the most popular ski resorts in New Hampshire. They are known for their terrain parks, family friendly atmosphere and over 300 acres across three peaks. Loon is located in Lincoln, New Hampshire, so it's also one of the few ski resorts in a town, which offers more choices for dining and other activities.

Waterville Valley

Not far from Loon, you'll find Waterville Valley, located in the White Mountain National Forest, and my family's personal favorite. We love the layout and how almost all trails lead right back to the lodge, making it easy to keep track of each other. Waterville is known as the birthplace of freestyle skiing. They keep this reputation alive with ever-changing features, suitable for all ages. Waterville Valley also has a town square a short drive away with many lodging and dining options. Here you'll also find a dedicated Nordic Center and 72km of trails.
