A New Caribbean Experience Awaits at Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman
Curator’s statement

In August 2024, I had the pleasure of visiting the stunning Cayman Islands for the first time, where I stayed at the newly-opened Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, which made its debut just a few months earlier in May. While the Cayman Islands are famed for their lavish five-star resorts, Hotel Indigo truly sets itself apart. Beyond its vibrant oasis of style and comfort, it offered me one of the most remarkable customer service I've ever had. The hotel's art and design is masterfully curated, and the cuisine is nothing short of extraordinary. A short walk takes you to its exclusive beach club, and the property boasts the island's first rooftop bar, offering stunning sunset views over the iconic Seven Mile Beach. Hotel Indigo felt like a home away from home, leaving me eager to return again and again.

Lobby and common area:

From the moment you step into the lobby, Hotel Indigo immerses you in a world of color and style. Every detail, from the thoughtfully curated artworks to the natural light-filled spaces, reflects the rich culture and beauty of the island. The hotel’s design, inspired by the surrounding landscapes, combines bright blues, warm sandy tones and lush greens to create a welcoming atmosphere.

The rooms:

The rooms at Hotel Indigo blend comfort with modernity, providing a serene retreat after a day of exploration. Each room showcases artwork from Caymanian artists, adding a distinctive touch that celebrates the island’s culture. Whether enjoying your morning coffee on the private balcony or relaxing in luxurious bedding, the stunning ocean or lush greenery views ensure every moment helps you unwind in style.

The dining options:

The hotel's signature restaurant celebrates Grand Cayman’s culinary heritage, blending local flavors with international techniques for a unique indulgence. Fresh, locally sourced seafood, tropical fruits and spices are highlights of the menu. A food hall located in the lobby features the following F&B outlets:

  • Catalina (and Catalina Bar & Lounge): This elegant all-day dining room showcases Caymanian ingredients prepared in a classic California coastal style. Standout dishes include adobo meatballs, red snapper and gochujang short ribs. Their bread with olive oil is exceptional and the desserts are masterpieces.

  • Milkberry: Located deeper in the food hall, Milkberry features an exceptional Asian-influenced sushi counter, offering lunch and dinner with small plates representing various Asian food cultures found in California cuisine.

  • Rasa: Explore international culinary creations at Rasa, a one-of-a-kind exhibition kitchen. Monthly rotating dining concepts include a cultural tasting menu and bespoke beverage and wine pairing program.

A notable highlight is the pair of stunning paintings at the entrance of the food hall, depicting female pilots from Cayman Airways. They are truly captivating and impossible to look away from!

For a quick bite to go? Café Alula serves delightful coffee beverages, fresh-pressed juices, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt bowls, salads and healthy snacks. Conveniently located in the hotel lobby.

Bonny Moon Beach Club and the hotel pool

World-renowned Seven Mile Beach is just steps away, with Bonny Moon Beach Club situated along its pristine shores. A five to ten minute walk or a two-minute golf cart ride (arrange with the hotel concierge) will get you there quickly. Guests can hang out on elegant loungers, enjoy fresh seafood and tropical dishes at the beachside bar and restaurant, and take in stunning ocean views. Formerly a hotspot for nightlife and weekend parties, Bonny Moon Beach Club still offers an energetic atmosphere with great music.

Meanwhile, the pool at Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman features a stunning infinity pool where guests can chill on stylish sunbeds, enjoy expertly crafted cocktails from the poolside bar, and savor light, refreshing bites. Bata bar serves flavorful fare and tropical drinks, perfect for a laid-back afternoon of sunbathing, socializing, or cooling off in the pool. Upon check-in, the staff will set up your sunbeds, and sunscreen and aloe gel are provided.

Grand Cayman’s only rooftop lounge:

Named after a Caribbean orchid tree, Pom Pom is one of the island’s rare rooftop lounges, perched on the hotel’s 10th floor. It promises to be the island’s top social spot, featuring South American-inspired small plates and cocktails with a wood-fired and Latin twist. Embracing the global aperitivo tradition, Pom Pom celebrates sunsets with happy hour specials, nightcaps and weekend brunches. DJ sets and lively events enhance the atmosphere, making it a standout destination.

Additional dining options or activities:

The sister property, Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa —an acclaimed five-star hotel and the most popular choice in the Cayman Islands—is just next door. The hotel staff will be delighted to transport you there via golf cart in just two minutes.
