The Equinox Hotel in New York City: A Trip Report
Curator’s statement

The Equinox Hotel is a luxury urban oasis. This was a wintery romantic staycation for us and it was perfect. We loved the serene vibe, the focus on wellness and the unique location in Hudson Yards. We will absolutely return and highly recommend it to romantics, solo travelers, staycationers and business travelers.

Location

The Equinox Hotel is nestled in the vibrant Hudson Yards neighborhood of New York City. A unique place for a hotel, right on the Hudson River and High Line, near luxury stores.

The Rooms

Our room, located on a high floor, offered breathtaking views of the iconic Vessel and the glittering cityscape. It achieved a perfect balance between style and tranquility. I loved the hotel's luxurious amenities, particularly the heavenly beds and spa-like bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous size of our deluxe room, which is often a rarity in New York. They also offer suites and a fabulous penthouse

Spa and Fitness

The spa surpassed all of my expectations, boasting avant-garde features like cryotherapy, outdoor saunas, nutridip IVs, massages, skin therapy and even an outdoor pool accessible year-round. We spent a half-day in the spa, but it would be easy to indulge in a full day of pampering and self-care.

One of the standout features of the hotel is its integration with the Equinox Fitness Club, granting guests a temporary membership for the duration of their stay. The fitness equipment is state-of-the-art and includes an indoor saltwater lap pool, all set against the backdrop of panoramic vistas of the Vessel and the Hudson River.

Vibe

The nickname of the Equinox Hotel is the ‘most fit and healthiest hotel in NYC’, which now makes total sense. However, the hotel's commitment to well-being extends beyond physical fitness. That's what I liked about it so much. The atmosphere is focused on the combination of relaxation and indulgence. Despite the presence of many fitness enthusiasts, the ambiance remains laid-back and welcoming, ensuring a comfortable experience for all guests. Throughout the hotel, guests and locals mingled in chic surroundings.

Food and Drinks

Dining at Electric Lemon was excellent. It was lovely to come back after a night of venturing throughout the city and having the ability to end the night hanging out at the sleek bar. I loved lounging by the fireplace with a delicious cocktail (the mezcal cleanse was delicious). Although our winter visit precluded us from experiencing the outdoor terrace with its sweeping views and captivating sculptures, it remains a tempting invitation for future stays.

In conclusion, the Equinox Hotel stands as a beacon of luxury and wellness in the heart of New York City, promising a truly exceptional stay.

Need to know

I recommend the Equinox Hotel for a romantic getaway, a girls getaway or a group of friends traveling together. It’s an oasis in the city, in an excellent location. This hotel will please travelers who enjoy wellness and is perfect for those seeking a blend of decadence, luxury and relaxation, all infused with a sporty atmosphere.
