Site Review: Paséa Hotel & Spa Southern California Coast Huntington Beach
Curator’s statement

I love the location and vibe of the Paséa Hotel & Spa. Beachfront and ocean views complement the hotel’s curated modern vibe to create a luxe, relaxed atmosphere. The attentive staff treats its guests like VIPs, honoring Virtuoso perks with a host of impressive amenities including the Aarna spa, on-site fitness studio and complimentary bikes to cruise the Strand. Personal touches include welcome notes and surf-style branded flip-fops. Furry friends are welcomed with homemade dog treats and access to an 1100-square-foot outdoor dog playground! The perfect place to unwind and/or treat your family, the Paséa Hotel & Spa lives up to its "Sea. Style. Sun." retreat.

Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach is the perfect location for a quintessential California beach experience. Giving ode to SoCal surf culture, this beachfront location chicly sports ocean views as well as the pier. It is also adjacent to Pacific City, a premier outdoor boutique dining and shopping oasis anchored by H&M and Urban Outfitters. Upon check-in, your “surfboard-styled” keys set the welcoming tone for your stay. The rooms are breezy with aqua tones, inviting an indoor/outdoor feel.

Part of the Meritage Collection of resort hotels, Paséa showcases Trinitas wines, which you can enjoy on your balcony. We spent spring break with another couple and our four older teens. We all had different rooms but all had spectacular balcony views.

While the adults met for hand-crafted cocktails and sunset views at the hotel's 21-and-over Treehouse on PCH rooftop bar, the kids went for açaí bowls at Oakberry within Pacific City (again, Paséa’s location is amazingly convenient for guests of all ages!). This cool rooftop bar draws a hip crowd and is a festive place to gather. After grabbing a drink, check out the hotel's new Lorea Restaurant — offering coastal fare and more — or meet at one of the many restaurants next door at Pacific City. We had the most amazing culinary experiences at Kai Modern Japanese Bistro.

In the mornings, we headed to the well-appointed gym, and while we did not have a spa treatment, we treated ourselves to some of Aarna boutique product offerings. When not enjoying the pool scene, we headed across the street for some toes in the sand, walks on the beach and a sun-soaking picnic.

You can grab some great to-go treats for a beach peach picnic at Paséa’s Blend. We walked the short distance to the pier, shopped and generally enjoyed our stay. In past trips to the area, I’d head down the short distance to Newport’s Fashion Island. But this trip, we parked at Paséa and never left.

Need to know

In addition to being the perfect spot for a couple's retreat or a family vacay, Paséa also hosts business meetings and is known for its lavish weddings. Truly a unique property.
