A Luxury Stay at One&Only Palmilla in San Jose Del Cabo

Location

The One&Only Palmilla resort is located in a luxury gated community which stood out to me as a solo traveller. It felt safe, secluded and ultra exclusive. The coast line of the Baja Peninsula is unique in comparison to the lush jungles of Cancun. Here, the beaches are quite rocky with tides not meant for swimming. At One&Only Palmilla, you will find a swimmable beach that guests can enjoy for lazy swims or water sports. I visited during the off-season, which was quite hot and humid. Visiting between December and March would be an added treat, with chances to see whale migrations from the property's balconies and beaches.

Accommodation

Let's start by making one thing clear - the Ocean Front Suites at One&Only Palmilla are the way to go when choosing your room for booking. The suites were spacious, decked out in traditional decor and airy. The generous balcony was perfect for sipping my morning coffee and listening to the waves crash each evening. My favorite part of each night was coming back to my suite after dinner to find personalized turn down gifts. Did I mention that each room at this property has butler service? I had not one, but two butlers that made sure my stay was incredible. Services offered range from packing and unpacking, garment pressing arrangements, and a close attention to your preferences in order to provide surprise services that you may not have thought of. For me, my butler arranged for a calming tea and incense to be presented in my room after I mentioned not feeling well one morning. You can't get much better than this kind of service!

Food

The food at One&Only Palmilla was incredible. While most would pay more attention to dinner offerings (and don't get me wrong-those are in abundance at this property between Agua and Seared), it was the breakfast that still comes to mind so many months later. The staff at the resort goes out of their way to offer you more at each turn, but there was something about being offered more at breakfast (which is included with bookings via Fora as a perk) that left me with the feeling of generosity and abundance. My personal recommendation for future guests would be breakfast at Agua at a table on their outdoor patio, closest to the striking view of the swimmable beach with the mountains in the distance. Starting my days with this breakfast view was sublime. Pro Tip: Try and snag these tables for an early dinner and watch the sunset for a perfect last night at the property.

I would recommend One&Only Palmilla to clients looking for romantic getaways, luxury solo vacations, and honeymoons. With plenty of dining options, an incredible spa and fitness facilities, and stunning views, you won't ever need to step foot off of the property. Be prepared for gracious luxury service and amenities, and being surprised with added touches unique to you during your stay.
