With music as the focus of this Manchester trip, the Kimpton Clocktower was the perfect place to stay! The location in the heart of Manchester meant that activities, like museums, restaurants and of course, music venues, were easily accessed by walking or public transportation. And having an on-staff music concierge was a bonus! I would definitely stay here again and recommend this Michelin Guide hotel to my clients traveling for leisure or for business.

Walking into the lobby of the Kimpton Clocktower, my husband and I were greeted by an amazing bronze horse sculpture and beautiful floral arrangements. Our flight arrived very early in the morning, long before check-in, and the hotel staff quickly confirmed our reservation and graciously stored our luggage until our room was available. Then, with clear directions from the Kimpton staff, we were on our way to see the sights.

While the focus of our trip was the music scene, Manchester is also a foodie paradise. There are many delicious restaurants within walking distance of the Kimpton — plus The Refuge restaurant onsite is top-notch! We were lucky to arrive on a Sunday, when the famous Sunday Roast tradition was available at The Refuge, and this meal was an excellent way to use our amenity credit. On other evenings, we enjoyed wine at the complimentary happy hour and refreshing cocktails at The Winter Garden Bar before heading upstairs to our room.
The Kimpton offered a variety of room choices for our consideration, but they all included our favorite amenities! My favorite was the "plant pal" program, where the hotel delivers a live plant to your room for a warm welcome. My husband's favorite was having a record player and locally-inspired records delivered to our room by the Music Concierge! And we both enjoyed access to yoga mats, the onsite gym, a fitness concierge and bicycles for exploring the city.

The Kimpton Clocktower's location is perfect for both business and leisure travelers. It's near cultural activities like the Palace Theatre, galleries and museums. Manchester hosts two professional soccer teams, and visiting either pitch is easily achieved by cab or by public transportation. In the city center, you can stroll from the hotel's front door to craft cocktail bars and explore the vibrant music scene — both historic and present-day!
