There are over 20 different Hilton hotel brands, with options for every type of traveler, from glamorous Waldorf Astoria properties to Hilton’s more approachably priced hotels. Below, we break down each Hilton brand by tier, with additional insights from Fora travel advisors.

    Luxury Hilton hotel brands

Hilton’s luxury properties are, of course, the best of the brand’s offerings. These hotels and resorts are typically set in covetable destinations around the world and offer top-of-the-line amenities.

“Luxury Hilton resorts is where Hilton sets itself apart; these properties are experiences,” Fora Advisor Brittany Abeyta said. “Throw in a Waldorf or Conrad and Hilton shows off.”

Waldorf Astoria is known for its unparalleled service and amenities among Hilton hotel brands. (We can’t wait for the revamped Waldorf Astoria New York to open its doors.) These iconic hotels provide elegant accommodations in the world's most sought-after destinations, delivering personalized experiences steeped in respective local heritage and sophistication.

“Waldorf Astoria has this timeless elegance,” Fora Advisor Arlette Diederiks said. “The hotels are in beautiful locations, the spaces are great and the staff has a way of making you feel completely taken care of without ever overdoing it.”

Fora Advisor Tracy Burpee added that “Waldorf Astoria is truly luxe in every way: The rooms are larger, the service is beyond expectations and they're in the most desirable cities, so you can always count on finding a warm bed with fancy sheets!”

One of our favorite Waldorf Astoria properties is in Los Cabos, Mexico.

“Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is an experience in service,” Brittany added. “From the moment you enter the gates, to the second you leave with your turtle shortbread cookie, every single staff member treats you like you’re family.”

At any Waldorf, expect an incredible staff. They really turn a great stay into an exceptional one.

“The people here are truly what makes this property an experience not to be missed,” Brittany said.

Fora Perks at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal:

    • $100 hotel credit, breakfast daily, VIP status, double Hilton Honors points and an upgrade whenever possible.

    LXR Hotels & Resorts

LXR Hotels & Resorts are a curated collection of pseudo-independent, luxury properties that meld individuality with Hilton’s trusted standards. Each hotel is deeply connected to its unique destination, allowing you to immerse yourself in its culture, history and character. While these properties are owned by Hilton, they have a distinct vibe that may appeal to clients who want the feel of an independently owned hotel, but with benefits of a larger brand.

    Conrad Hotels & Resorts

Conrad Hotels & Resorts deliver modern luxury for the smart, connected traveler. Contemporary design is a focal point of the brand, as is personalized service. There’s a consistency across locations, but each location still maintains a unique personality, Fora Advisor Renée Olson said. She noted that her clients can depend on the brand’s universal standards, but there are still surprises to keep things fresh.

Conrad Washington, DC — one of the best hotels in Washington, DC — for instance, has the Sakura Club, a special floor offering premium suites and exclusive dining.

"One of the Sakura Club suites was the perfect place to host a small staycation-birthday get-together with a few of my besties,” Fora Advisor Liz Laird said. “The staff of the Conrad went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was not only impeccable, but also that I felt truly celebrated.”

Fora Perks at Conrad Washington, DC:

    • $100 hotel credit, breakfast daily, VIP status, double Hilton Honors points and an upgrade whenever possible.

    Signia by Hilton

Signia by Hilton bridges the gap between leisure and corporate travel with high-end properties that focus on meetings and world-class experiences. Each property has state-of-the-art event spaces, innovative technology integration for seamless business gatherings, conferences and social events. Enjoy elevated dining, stylish accommodations and wellness offerings, too.

    Boutique Hilton hotel brands

Hilton’s boutique portfolio features a diverse range of luxury and mid-range properties. Many of these properties were previously independent, and great care has been taken to preserve their indie spirit. Now these brands have access to Hilton’s global resources. Other properties were built from the ground up to offer a boutique vibe.

    Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Hilton’s Tapestry Collection includes a variety of unique, upscale hotels. The collection celebrates the individuality of each property, offering an authentic, locally inspired experience. These hotels are perfect if you’re interested in vibrant, character-driven accommodations along with Hilton’s trusted service and amenities.

    NoMad

NoMad hotels give Hilton’s luxury a creative edge. Each NoMad hotel offers sophisticated, boutique-style accommodations that reflect the artistic spirit of their respective locations. These hotels are also big on food. Expect local, buzzy restaurants, curated experiences and a culturally rich design that often features local art and influences.

    Mid-range Hilton hotel brands

Hilton’s mid-range hotels are arguably their most recognizable. These properties are excellent for travelers who want value, service and convenience. Hotels under this umbrella offer approachable rates for their respective destinations, and while the amenities aren’t as glamorous as Hilton’s luxury offerings, comfort is a mainstay.

Hilton Hotels and DoubleTree hotels, for example, are perfect for business or leisure travel.  Fora Advisor Amy Barraclough noted that the chronically overscheduled among will appreciate how these hotels always have a bar and restaurant on site.

    Curio Collection by Hilton

The Curio Collection is a handpicked portfolio of hotels that celebrate local charm. Each property feels immersive and place-specific, with lots of character and an authentic connection to its destination.

Fora Advisor AnnaMarie Jones shared a recent experience from one of her clients, a well-traveled family of 14. They stayed at the Hoodoo Moab, part of the Curio Collection, for Thanksgiving 2024. She arranged for them to stay in four two-bedroom casitas, and had their Thanksgiving dinner catered by a private chef.

“They were very happy and felt the hotel matched the vibe of the desert,” AnnaMarie said. “They felt very well taken care of.”

    Tempo by Hilton

Tempo hotels are designed for the modern achiever, with wellness-focused accommodations meant to inspire balance and productivity. Thoughtfully curated spaces, fine amenities like well-equipped fitness facilities, hydration bars and a focus on mindful dining were designed to help you recharge and pursue your personal and professional goals.

    Canopy by Hilton

Canopy is a lifestyle brand offering a locally inspired experience. The brand’s hotels are designed to reflect the energy and spirit of their neighborhoods. Expect contemporary spaces, upscale food and drinks and an air of relaxed sophistication.

    Hilton Hotels & Resorts

Hilton Hotels & Resorts, their flagship brand, delivers reliable accommodations in sought-after destinations worldwide. Each location offers tuned-in service, up-to-date amenities and family-friendly offerings, like the option for connecting rooms and kids’ clubs. Most locations are great for leisure and business travel; however, some prioritize one or the other depending on what their destination is known for. (For instance, Hilton Sacramento Arden West is more geared toward business travelers, while Hilton Orlando is a place to stay when exploring Orlando resorts.)

Fora Advisor Amy Barraclough is partial to TheWit Chicago, part of the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.

“TheWit Chicago is one of my favorite properties for staycations or a couples’ getaway,” she said. “In the wintertime, the view of falling snow over the Chicago River is so warming, as is a bath in the extra-deep tub with a bath bomb.”

    DoubleTree by Hilton

At DoubleTree hotels, expect a comfortable stay with thoughtful amenities and a focus on hospitality.  Signature to the experience: DoubleTree’s warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival.

“Who doesn't love a warm Doubletree cookie?” Fora Advisor Tracy Burpee said. “They're never the same when you make them at home, but receiving one at check-in just makes you feel all warm inside!”

    Niche Hilton hotel brands

Hilton offers two niche brands: The first centers on universities while the latter targets family vacations to popular destinations.

    Graduate by Hilton

Graduate hotels celebrate the charm and character of universities and college towns. Each hotel reflects the spirit and stories of its destination for students, alumni and families. Graduate hotels also help foster community and showcase school pride.

“I take any chance I get to recommend and book Graduate hotels for myself and clients,” Fora Advisor Nadia Schwartz said. “They capture the personality and spirit of their college and college town.”

Fora Advisor Melissa Star added that Graduate hotels fill a need for her clients visiting their kids in college. Virtually all Graduate properties are either set on campus or just outside of it.

    Hilton Grand Vacations

Hilton Grand Vacations specialize in spacious, residential-style accommodations — like one- or two-bedroom suites with kitchens — in popular destinations around the world, like the Las Vegas Strip or Los Cabos. These are great for families and extended stays. Each property combines home comforts with resort-style amenities.

“I always recommend Hilton Grand Vacation properties for families or couples traveling together,” Amy said. “It feels like you've rented a condo or apartment in your favorite city. Live like a local with the convenience of staying with the Hilton brand to demonstrate your loyalty and earn rewards points.”

Hilton hotel brands for extended stays

Hilton’s extended-stay brands share many features with their mid-range hotels, except there’s a greater emphasis on residential-like amenities. These stays might include full or half kitchens, larger units (some with separate living areas and multiple bedrooms) and laundry facilities. But while these properties are designed for extended stays, many travelers choose them simply because of their homey vibes.

“Homewood Suites and Embassy Suites are both great family road-trip options,” Fora Advisor Melissa Star added.

Four brands fall under this banner: Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites and LivSmart Studios. Embassy Suites stands out with offerings like two-room suites, made-to-order breakfasts and evening receptions.

“I like the Embassy Suites in Wilmington, North Carolina, on the Riverwalk, as well as the Embassy Suites Riverplace in Greenville, South Carolina,” Fora Advisor Kristel Finns said. “Both are scenic with an excellent breakfast, and when you factor those in, it really makes it worth the little bit extra for a family — good quality and predictable value!”

Homewood Suites focuses on longer stays with residential-style living, including fully equipped kitchens and common spaces for you to connect with other guests, if you choose. Home2 Suites targets a younger, value-conscious traveler with modern designs, pet-friendly policies and efficient spaces. LivSmart Studios differentiates itself as a more streamlined option that prioritizes functional, compact spaces for budget-conscious extended-stay travelers. It’s worth noting that all of Hilton’s extended-stay hotel brands tend to be located near major destinations, but may sacrifice some proximity in order to offer larger rooms and amenities.

    Approachably priced Hilton hotel brands

Finally, Hilton offers a variety of wallet-friendly hotel options, including Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton, Tru by Hilton, Motto by Hilton and Spark by Hilton. Each offers the essentials, such as comfortable bedding and furniture, moderate-size rooms and full bathrooms. Hampton Garden Inn and Tru are both pet-friendly, and all of the Hilton brands in this category are family-friendly, except for Motto and Spark, which are geared more toward urban solo travelers or couples.

All Hilton brands participate in Hilton Honors

Hilton Honors is the brand’s loyalty program. Any time you book a Hilton brand property, you can earn points to put toward future bookings and experiences. This applies whether you’re staying at a Waldorf Astoria hotel or a Hampton by Hilton property. That said, points are largely based on dollars spent. You’ll get more out of the program if you tend to book mid-range hotels and above (this includes extended-stay properties). Our article on Hilton Honors benefits offers a comprehensive breakdown, or you can always ask a Fora Advisor about the program. In fact, any time you book a Hilton property through a Fora Advisor, you’ll still earn points.

Ask a Fora Advisor to book your stay at a Hilton hotel

Fora is partnered with all Hilton hotel brands, and a Fora Advisor can book any Hilton property for you. If you choose one of Hilton’s premium brands — like Waldorf Astoria, Conrad or LXR Resorts — your advisor can also unlock complimentary hotel perks for you, including resort credit, a room upgrade when available and more.
