Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos is one of hundreds of possible family beach vacations across the Caribbean, which offers options for every budget and interest. In Turks, though, families can expect a luxurious and laid-back vibe.
“Turks and Caicos is a fantastic beach destination for families, offering pristine white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters and a relaxed atmosphere,” Fora Advisor Sophie Gutman said. “Many resorts cater specifically to families, with kids' clubs, babysitting services and spacious accommodations.”
Take Grace Bay Club, for instance. Kids will love the kids’ club, while adults will inevitably be drawn toward their amazing spa and wellness activities. Another world-class resorts on Turks and Caicos is Amanyara.
“Pavilions and expansive villas let the whole family spread out in style,” Fora Advisor Arlette Diederiks shared. “Amanyara’s on-site Nature Discovery Centre immerses all ages in conservation-focused adventures, and gives children and teens the tools to stay balanced, relieve stress and fully embrace the island vibe.”

Fiji

Calm lagoons, colorful coral reefs and a warm, welcoming culture make Fiji another tropical haven for families. Enjoy jungle treks to waterfalls or traditional Fijian villages, swim in sheltered bays — which may be especially ideal for younger children unaccustomed to waves — or snorkel alongside all sorts of marine animals.
“Fiji is an incredible (and believe it or not affordable) family vacation with easy, direct flights from LAX, San Francisco and Dallas-Fort Worth,” Fora X Advisor Nadiah Ford said. “A fair amount of resorts in Fiji are all-inclusive and provide even more value for families, including nanny services for the little ones, as well as extensive and immersive Bula Clubs (kids’ clubs) and teen programs.”
Arlette is partial to The Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort, with its “breezy bure-style accommodations, personalized nanny service (complimentary for all kids aged 0-5!) and the Bula Club.”
The Bula Club organizes eco-educational programs and marine-conservation activities, Arlette said, all with the help of a resident biologist.
The hotel, she added, is “the perfect setting where both parents and kids can explore, unwind and fully immerse themselves in Fiji’s laid-back island spirit.”

Los Cabos, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas may have a reputation as a more adult-oriented destination with fantastic all-inclusive resorts. But the greater Los Cabos area has plenty of family-friendly options— especially as you inch toward beaches like Playa Palmilla in nearby San José del Cabo. The greater region is one of the best in the world for whale watching, but there are also charming historic areas to explore, as well as tons of resort activities. As for where to stay, consider One&Only Palmilla, a Fora community favorite.
“One&Only Palmilla has wonderfully attentive staff, plus a great beach and kids’ club,” Fora Advisor Nadia Schwartz said. “We took our multi-gen family there for spring break: lots of activities for everyone to enjoy that are centered on the beach.”
The resort also has adult-focused options like spas, golf, fishing, yoga and tennis.
Fora Reserve perks at One&Only Palmilla include a $150 resort credit, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.
Da Nang, Vietnam

Da Nang is a bustling coastal city with beaches like My Khe and Non Nuoc, which have soft, white-sand and gentle waves. Downtown Da Nang hosts theme-park rides and cultural experiences, and the nearby Marble Mountains have caves, pagodas and hiking paths to explore. Da Nang’s street food scene is exemplary, introducing families to the flavors of Vietnam with dishes like banh xeo (crispy pancakes) and pho.
“Da Nang, Vietnam is one of my favorite under-the-radar beach destinations, especially for families,” Fora Advisor Steph Hays said. “The beaches are stunning, way less crowded than Thailand’s and everything feels super easygoing. It’s also a great jumping-off point for exploring central Vietnam.”
You’ll love the city’s lantern-lit streets, riverside cafés, tailor shops and proximity to numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The lantern-lit streets, riverside cafes and tailor shops give it such a unique vibe, plus it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.”
For your stay, Steph recommended Hyatt Regency Danang Resort And Spa: “It was perfect for both kids and adults,” she said. “The pools are massive, the beach is pristine and the resort doesn’t feel overly fancy or stuffy — but isn't lacking in five-star, impeccable service.”

The Maldives

The Maldives is a dream destination if you’re seeking a luxurious beach getaway. There are private islands with turquoise lagoons, white-sand beaches and world-class resorts. Many Maldivian resorts cater specifically to families with spacious villas, overwater bungalows and amenities such as kids’ clubs, family pools and babysitting services. The crystal-clear waters are ideal for snorkeling and gentle water sports. Adventure-seeking families can enjoy activities like island-hopping excursions.
“I adore LUX* South Ari Atoll in the Maldives for its spacious overwater and beach villas, star-lit cinema evenings and a kids’ club that keeps little ones engaged with island treasure hunts and fun marine encounters like swimming with whale sharks,” Fora Advisor Arlette Diederiks said of one popular resort. “I love how the resort’s barefoot luxury vibe allows the whole family to relax while still offering plenty of adventure.”
Fora Perks at LUX* South Ari Atoll include a $100 food and beverage credit, one complimentary sunset cruise, a welcome amenity, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.
Lake Tahoe, California

Lake Tahoe is unique among family beach vacations because, if you time it right, you can comfortably pair a visit to the lake’s beaches with skiing in nearby peaks. In warmer months, watersports from parasailing to jetskiing are available — or you can always hike or cycle around the lake. As one of the best places to visit in California, you can count on an excellent lineup of accommodations, as well.
“The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe has lakefront access through its Beach Club, making it easy to spend the day paddle boarding, swimming or just enjoying the amazing views of Lake Tahoe,” Fora Advisor Anita Burke said. “It's a great option for families who want upscale amenities but still enjoy easy access to outdoor activities by the water.” Critically, the bulk of the resort is set further from the lake.
Anita also highlighted Edgewood Tahoe Resort: The only luxe resort directly on the lake — and it even has a private beach, a rarity in California. Plus, the property provides access to Lake Tahoe’s ski area, Heavenly Ski Resort.
“Lake Tahoe is truly one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever been to, and it’s great any time of year,” Anita added.

The Big Island, Hawai‘i

Hawai‘i is an amazing and relatively accessible family beach vacation. But the Big Island is arguably the best Hawai‘ian island to visit for first-timers if you prefer to avoid the busier islands of Oahu and Maui. Expect both relaxation and opportunities for adventure, like exploring Volcanoes National Park and trekking through dense rainforest.
As for where to stay on the Big Island, Fora Advisor Nadia Schwartz recommended the Fairmont Orchid.
“This is a very family-friendly resort,” she said. “There is no shortage of hands-on activities and fun classes for kids of all ages.” She added, “all the dining at the resort caters to families and is relaxed; they know that kids can't sit still.”
The resort is on the Big Island’s Waikoloa coast, which, beyond the incredible beach scenery, offers immediate access to multiple nature reserves.

Kiawah Island or Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Kiawah Island is a quiet alternative to South Carolina’s famous Myrtle Beach. Both destinations make for great family beach vacations, but if you’re seeking an intimate escape, you may prefer the former, which hosts a handful of upscale beach resorts.
The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort is one such spot.
“It's hard to think of a more perfect spot for a family beach vacation,” Fora Advisor Catherine Kinsey said of the resort, which features a “pristine” Atlantic Ocean beach, multiple family-friendly swimming pools, top-tier golf courses and over 30 miles of bike paths. “There is truly something for every member of the family to enjoy at Kiawah and you're guaranteed to make incredible memories.” She added, “when the kids are at Kamp Kiawah, adults can enjoy the spa, world-class tennis facilities and golf. At the end of the day, the family can reconvene at the weekly sunset Oyster Roast at Mingo Point.”
For an especially exclusive stay, The Dunlin brings Auberge’s prestigious service and offerings to Kiawah. This dreamy property celebrates Southern glamor and privacy, while also offering an expansive set of activities. You could also stay at a nearby hotel in Charleston for a mix of urban and beachy fun. Further south, Hilton Head Island is another alternative to Myrtle Beach. Expect clean beaches, activities for all ages and plenty of dining options, plus luxe resorts. Fora Advisor Carlie Lee recommended the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort, which offers upscale but family-friendly accommodations.

St. Augustine, Florida

Florida is filled with beautiful beachfront cities — Miami, Pensacola, Cocoa, Daytona — but many of the most popular choices attract a rowdy crowd that may not always be family-friendly. St. Augustine is an exception that couples a family-friendly vibe with plenty to do. There are impressive historical landmarks, a casual dining scene and tons of activities around town, like mini golf and museums (check out the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum and the Villa Zorayda Museum).
“St. Augustine, the oldest mainland city in the US, is the perfect casual beach destination for families,” Fora Advisor Kaya Flostrand said.
The city is walkable — or you can rent bikes or golf carts — and the historical center is well preserved. Kaya advises visiting the Fountain of Youth and the San Marco Fort, or head to an alligator farm for a memorable family afternoon.
“St. Augustine is also an outlet heaven,” she added.
Lake George, New York

The "Queen of American Lakes" offers calm waters surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains for a quiet, nature-filled backdrop. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a safe and laid-back choice where you can enjoy swimming and sunbathing on sandy beaches. You can also kayak, paddleboard or take a boat out. The town of Lake George is filled with charming shops, casual restaurants and family attractions like mini golf and arcades. Nearby, hike in the Adirondacks or, to inject some adrenaline into your quiet family getaway, visit Six Flags Great Escape.
“The Sagamore Resort is a great option for families looking for a mix of luxe and fun on the lake,” Fora Advisor Anita Burke said. “It has a private sandy beach for swimming and paddle boarding, and I always recommend my clients take a lake cruise.” She added, “the resort’s perfect for keeping kids entertained while adults enjoy the scenery and charm of the area!”
