Ten-year anniversaries call for some serious celebration. Below, Fora’s travel experts share their favorite trips to commemorate a decade with your significant other. Whether it be an African safari, a relaxing trip to the Caribbean or culture-filled vacation in Europe, here’s what to get on the books.

“A 10-year anniversary calls for a destination worthy of the memories you’ve built together — a place where luxury meets intimacy, and every moment feels extraordinary,” Fora X Advisor Seasen Acevedo-Zullo said. “Whether you're dreaming of ultra-luxe indulgence or a romantic getaway that balances splurge-worthy experiences with thoughtful value, we’ve got you covered.”

African safari

Imagine waking up to sunrises over the savannah, sharing quiet moments while spotting majestic wildlife and ending the day with a candlelit dinner under a starlit sky. That’s an African safari. Thrilling offroad drives, serene river cruises and camping in remote pockets of wilderness provide an idyllic mix of excitement and relaxation. Luxe lodges provide private accommodations, spa treatments and curated activities that connect you with local cultures.

“An African safari is truly a memorable way to celebrate 10 years together,” Fora Advisor Teresa Fox said.  “Being so far removed from your daily lives, it offers the unique opportunity to experience magical moments while connecting with nature and each other. The camps are small, lending an additional level of privacy and exclusivity.”

You could also pair a safari with a stay in a traditional resort. For example, Fora X Advisor Kara Kassuba recommended coupling a safari with a visit to Victoria Falls and a stay at the Royal Chundu. The resort, considered one of the best in the world by Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards, provides luxurious accommodations near Zambia’s Zambezi River.

“A safari might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that couples will remember for years to come,” Fora X Advisor Kristyne Wada said.

  • Fora Perks at Royal Chundu - Relais & Châteaux include complimentary air and concierge services.

The Caribbean

The Caribbean offers a variety of options for anniversary celebrations. Every budget is represented somewhere in its tropical waters, from luxe Turks and Caicos all-inclusive resorts to casual resorts in the US Virgin Islands. There are hundreds of cultures to explore — each offering a distinct take on Caribbean cuisine and customs — and countless opportunities for excitement or relaxation. Kayak in bioluminescent bays, go rum tasting, hike in picturesque settings, snorkel in coral reefs, zipline through tropical forests, indulge in locally inspired spa treatments, sunbathe on soft-sand beaches lined with palm trees and lounge by over-the-water fire pits.

There are many resorts to choose from, but if you’re looking for the best, Fora Advisor Sophie Gutman highlighted Amanyara in Turks and Caicos, one of our favorite Aman hotels, as an “exceptional choice for a 10-year anniversary due to its unparalleled seclusion, world-class service and stunning natural beauty.”

  • Fora Perks at Amanyara include a $100 food and beverage credit, daily breakfast, complimentary air and concierge services, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Italy

Many Fora Advisors recommended Italy, but their chosen destinations varied. Venice, the Amalfi Coast and Sicily were among the more common choices, but any of Italy’s best places to stay make for an excellent anniversary backdrop, whether it’s your first time or otherwise. Venice is one example.

“There's no place more romantic; you can wander and happily get lost together — then find a charming café near a bridge to enjoy a glass of wine and cicchetti,” Fora Advisor Jane Henzerling, who recommended Venice’s Hotel Danieli for couples, said.

City streets are replaced with canals and narrow cobblestone pathways interrupted by charming and architecturally rich squares. You can take gondola rides along the canals, enjoy authentic Venetian cuisine and use the city as a base for exploring other parts of Northern Italy. Further south, consider the Amalfi Coast.

“It’s the ultimate playground,” Fora X Advisor Seasen Acevedo-Zullo said of the Amalfi Coast. “Start your mornings with cappuccinos on a terrace overlooking Positano’s pastel cliffs, spend your afternoons exploring the Blue Grotto on a private boat tour and cap off your evenings with candlelit dinners of freshly caught seafood and velvety local wines.”

And even further south, you must not forget about Sicily, a microcosm of culture, natural landmarks — such as Mount Etna, an active volcano — and gastronomy.

“If you’re seeking a destination that oozes cinematic romance, the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace in Taormina, Sicily is pure magic,” Seasen said. “Yes, it’s that White Lotus property, but beyond the pop-culture cachet lies a timeless retreat with clifftop views of the Ionian Sea, Michelin-Starred dining and the kind of Old World charm that makes every moment unforgettable.”

  • Fora Perks at Hotel Danieli, Venice include a $100 food and beverage credit, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

  • When you book Four Seasons with Fora, you’ll enjoy exclusive Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits.

Peru

Peru may be an underrated choice for anniversary trips. Old Spanish cities like Cusco and Lima boast historic Spanish architecture, Peruvian cuisine and lively markets where you can find all sorts of street food, trinkets and other goods. Explore Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Andes mountains, hike through the Sacred Valley — with ancient ruins, serene vistas and rare wildlife — or enjoy an intimate cruise on Lake Titicaca.

“We spent a couple of nights in Lima at the incredible Belmond Miraflores Park,” Fora Advisor Chantel Lanier, who was actively celebrating her 10-year anniversary in Peru when we reached out to her, said. “From here, we flew to Cusco to spend a few days acclimating to the altitude at Belmond Rio Sagrado, where we spent time in nature and enjoyed our meals with the alpacas who wander the property.”

  • Fora’s Belmond Bellini Club perks at Miraflores Park, Rio Sagrado and Palacio Nazarenas include a $90 hotel credit, welcome amenities, daily breakfast and an upgrade whenever possible.

Bhutan

Bhutan, a tranquil pocket in the Himalayas, is home to beautiful landscapes, monasteries and a deep culture with a keen interest in maintaining happiness.

“Bhutan is peaceful and spiritual; great for connecting with oneself and with each other and for active travelers,” Fora X Advisor Kara Kassuba said. “There is spectacular hiking: The hike to Tiger’s Nest is a must, and on many bucket lists, but there are many other temples and places to see only accessible via a hike.”

Kara shared a 13-day itinerary where couples split their time between Six Senses’ five “extraordinary” properties across Bhutan: Thimphu, Penakha, Gangtey, Bumtahang and Paro. This comes with exclusive experiences, local dining and spa treatments using local ingredients and techniques. Kara noted that there are shorter packages, too.

  • Fora’s IHG Destined perks at Six Senses Bhutan include a $100 hotel credit, a welcome amenity, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

The South of France

A rocky coastline with a Mediterranean-style house and turquoise-blue water with a couple of sailboats in the distance

Paris attracts a lot of attention as an anniversary and honeymoon destination, but it’s hardly France’s only romantic option.

“France is the original country of love, so what better place to celebrate a decade together,” Fora Advisor Samantha Dwinell said.

She noted the South of France provides a “perfect mix” of travel experiences, including exceptional dining and wine tasting, amazing beachfront resorts, quaint villages for wandering and museums dedicated to Picasso and Matisse. Coastal towns like Nice and Cannes offer serene beaches where you and your partner can stroll hand-in-hand. Provence enchants with its rolling lavender fields, quaint villages and vineyard-laden landscapes. Historic towns such as Avignon and Aix-en-Provence draw intrigue with cobblestone streets, centuries-old architecture and bustling markets. And the French Riviera offers luxury yacht cruises, cliffside dining and sunsets over the sea.

Big Sur, California

Big Sur tops many lists of the best places to visit in California for nature enthusiasts, hikers and couples wanting a semi-remote escape. The region represents roughly 100 miles of protected, rugged coastline between Monterey and San Luis Obispo, California (both fun destinations in their own right).

“Big Sur is a breathtaking destination where rugged cliffs meet the vast Pacific Ocean, creating one of California’s most iconic landscapes,” Fora Advisor Anna Dobrenski said. “With its pristine beaches, towering redwoods and scenic drives along Highway 1, it’s a place of unparalleled natural beauty and tranquility — perfect for a romantic escape.”

Anna recommended staying at Alila Ventana Big Sur, a luxurious all-inclusive resort tucked away in the northern stretch of the region (it’s also one of the best places to visit in fall), describing it as “a haven for romance and indulgence in one of the world’s most beautiful locations.” The resort offers views of the ocean and redwood forest, and pampers guests with rustic-chic accommodations and high-end amenities.

  • Fora’s Hyatt Privé partner perks at Alila Ventana Big Sur include a $100 resort credit, a welcome amenity, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

A dude ranch, like Paws Up in Montana

A dude ranch celebrates Old Western and ranch lifestyles, usually in remote pockets of the Midwest — think Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. (The name has nothing to do with gender; It comes from an old slang term ranchhands used for visiting city dwellers.) Dude ranches let you experience all sorts of outdoorsy adventures, from horseback riding to target shooting to whitewater rafting — the exact lineup of activities varies by ranch, and there are dozens across North America.

The 35,000-acre Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, Montana is one of Fora’s favorites. Lush pine forests, mountain streams and abundant wildlife set the scene for a romantic getaway whether you choose the ranch-style rustic accommodations of the main property or the contemporary treehouses of The Green O, a subsection of the larger Paws Up resort. Paws up features exquisite fine dining and tons of activities, from ATV tours of the property to fly fishing in its streams.

“The Green O, in particular, is a great anniversary destination for couples who prefer mountains over beaches and love a mix of active and relaxing getaways,” Fora Advisor Jessica Woods, who noted this was her favorite trip of 2024, said. “With food and drinks included and endless options for things to do on site, it’s a romantic getaway that can’t be beat and no passport required!”

  • Fora Perks at The Resort at Paws Up include a $300 activity credit, a welcome amenity, daily breakfast, complimentary round-trip airport transfers, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Patagonia

A few llamas graze in a field before an ice-blue lake and mountains

Patagonia is a huge nature preserve in southern Chile and Argentina. It boasts dramatic landscapes with towering rocky peaks, glacial fjords, turquoise lakes and vast grasslands filled with animals. You can explore places like Torres del Paine National Park and Los Glaciares National Park, both of which feature scenic trails and vistas. This is where to partake in adventurous activities like glacier trekking, kayaking among icebergs and horseback riding through the steppe.

“Share once-in-a-lifetime adventures exploring the unique terrain of Patagonia on foot, by boat and on horseback; then return to your luxe accommodations for a rejuvenating soak in the hot tub and a glass of Chilean wine,” Fora Advisor Jane Henzerling said.

Luxury lodges and eco-resorts are scattered across the region, offering cozy accommodations, gourmet cuisine and opportunities to unwind after days of exploration. Tierra, one of the best hotels in Patagonia, was Jane’s pick for where to stay. The resort is in a remote corner of Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park. Expect design-forward accommodations, unparalleled privacy and incredible views.

  • Fora Perks at Tierra Patagonia include a 50-minute complimentary massage for two, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Greece

Greece is another Mediterranean destination perfect for anniversary trips.

“Greece offers a little bit of everything: culture, food, wine, beaches, sunsets, pools, history, agriculture — the options are endless,” Fora Advisor Ashley Farlow said. “You could opt to spend days by the beach or you could take a historical tour of an island. Cooking classes and food tours are abundant, and are a great opportunity to learn new facts or skills together.”

The Greek Islands are perhaps the best place to stay in Greece: “The Greek Isles promise crystalline waters, postcard-perfect towns and the allure of sun-soaked days,” Fora X Advisor Seasen Acevedo-Zullo said. “For a chic yet attainable anniversary, consider an island-hopping itinerary.”

She recommended staying at Parīlio, in Paros, and enjoying a sunset catamaran cruise, then staying at Domes White Coast, in Milos, and finally concluding the trip with two nights at Canaves Oia Suites in Santorini — all three can be counted among the best Greek islands for couples

“Greece has some of the best hotels in the world with fabulous service, and there are hotels for all budgets,” Ashley added. “Fora perks include great anniversary amenities, like a nice bottle of wine or spa credit — the perfect way to treat yourselves.”

  • Fora’s Design Hotels Collective partner perks at Parīlio, a Member of Design Hotels, include a €50 spa treatment for couples, daily breakfast and an upgrade whenever possible.

  • Fora’s SLH withIN partner perks at Domes White Coast include a $50 resort credit, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

  • Fora Reserve perks at Canaves Oia Suites include a $100 food and beverage credit, a welcome amenity, daily breakfast and an upgrade whenever possible.

A Costa Rica eco-resort, like Nayara Tented Camp

Costa Rica is one of the best destinations in the world for couples interested in sustainable travel. Many of the best hotels in Costa Rica capitalize on the country’s natural beauty while prioritizing environment-friendly practices. Nayara Tented Camp, for example, consistently earns praise from Fora Advisors who love the bespoke mix of luxury amenities and eco-luxe tents.

“Nayara Tented Camp is an incredible 10-year anniversary trip for a couple that has a week or less and prefers not to fly too far,” Fora X Advisor Danielle Fisher, who is based on the US East Coast, said. “It's a splurge-worthy property with so many unique experiences.”

If you prefer a more traditional resort, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica — on the tip of the Papagayo Peninsula — feels like its own luxurious world. You can stay in private beachfront villas, enjoying private chef-led meals and admiring the stunning views of the Pacific and surrounding rainforest.

  • Fora Perks at Nayara Tented Camp include a $100 food and beverage credit, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

  • When you book Four Seasons with Fora, you’ll enjoy exclusive Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits.

Ireland

A deep-red and gold color palette permeates a moody and elegant Old World estate interior

Ireland is on many couples’ bucket lists; it’s a magical destination with a rich cultural heritage and enchanting natural landmarks. Explore the majestic Cliffs of Moher, take a romantic stroll through the historic streets of Dublin or relax in the picturesque countryside of Kerry or Connemara.

“Beautiful green landscapes, romantic stays, history, charming villages and pubs, all combined with warm Irish hospitality makes Ireland the perfect place to relax and enjoy your anniversary,” Fora X Advisor Tessie Wissel said.

For places to stay, Tessie highlighted The Westbury in Dublin (also check out other hotels in Dublin) and Ashford Castle, a majestically converted fortress about an hour north of Galway, “where it feels like you have stepped into a movie set.”

  • Fora Perks at The Westbury include a $100 food and beverage credit, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

  • Fora Reserve perks at Ashford Castle include a $100 food and beverage credit, a welcome amenity, complimentary green fees, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Maui, Hawai‘i

Any of the Hawai‘ian Islands could make for an amazing anniversary trip, especially if it's your first visit to the islands — but Maui earned the most praise among Fora Advisors for couples’ trips. The island offers the best balance between intimacy, adventure and relaxation. Maui isn’t as busy as Oahu or as remote as Kauai or the Big Island, and there’s an excellent variety of resorts. If you and your partner prefer world-class accommodations and premier service, Fora Advisor Jane Henzerling recommended Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. If you prefer one of the more unique places to stay in Maui, she suggested Hana-Maui Resort to get off the beaten path.

  • When you book Four Seasons with Fora, you’ll enjoy exclusive Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits.

  • Fora’s Hyatt Privé partner perks at Hana-Maui Resort include a $100 resort credit, a welcome amenity, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Honorable mentions for 10-year anniversary trips

Sedona, Arizona

Dramatic red-rock mountains rise up over a sparse green forest

Sedona is one of the most intriguing places to visit in Arizona, especially for couples seeking a wellness retreat. The small city is surrounded by red-rock formations and has a reputation for being a place of invigorating spiritual energy. Many hotels in Sedona rank among the United States’ top spa resorts, with treatments inspired by the region’s Indigenous heritages. You can also enjoy scenic hikes to noteworthy spots like Cathedral Rock or Devil's Bridge, take in the views on a hot-air balloon ride or stargaze under Sedona’s famously clear night skies.

Napa Valley, California

Napa Valley is arguably the United States’ most prestigious wine region. With over 400 wineries across  a rolling California landscape, you can enjoy tastings, food pairings or even wine-blending classes, plus a plethora of other activities. Luxe accommodations range from boutique hotels to vineyard resorts (check out our favorite Napa hotels), and often feature spa treatments and elevated dining. You can also enjoy sunrise hot air balloon rides over the valley, journeys on the Napa Valley Wine Train or guided tours of the vineyards, which typically include tastings.

The Florida Keys

A sailboat sails along the Key West shoreline with the sun setting behind it

The Keys represent one of the best places to visit in Florida. They’re laid-back, picturesque and intimate. Hotels in Key West, for example, usually include upscale accommodations and amenities — but with a bohemian vibe and more approachable rates compared to destinations like Palm Beach or Miami. Key Largo is even more casual, with a naturalist focus and a reputation as one of the best diving locations in the world — perfect for couples interested in snorkeling or scuba diving among coral reefs.

Cruises

Cruises may generally be associated with family travel, but reality paints a different picture. There are options for every occasion, including adults-only cruises to destinations all over the world. And whether you’re interested in a carefree trip to the Caribbean or South Pacific or a daring Antarctica cruise, a cruise travel agent can help you find and tailor your experience so you and your partner have the anniversary getaway of a lifetime.
