Things to do in Granada, Nicaragua

  • Go paddle boarding Las Isletas de Granadas: Go on this fun and relaxing adventure at sunrise or sunset. See the beautiful green islands along Lake Nicaragua and volcano in the distance. You have a good chance of seeing a couple of monkeys when passing by these islands.

  • Take a cooking class at Sabor Nica: Learn how to cook a 3-course meal with kind locals who can take you to the market and help create a full feast of traditional dishes.

  • Explore Mombacho Nature Reserve + dance away at the Treehouse Party: A fun way to spend a Friday night just outside of Nicaragua. With a convenient shuttle to the Treehouse, you’ll be climbing up to the top for a nice view of Granada and beyond. This party starts early and ends late, so be sure to bring your biggest energy.

  • Visit the Church of Mercy and get a beautiful view: Pay a small fee to climb the bell tower for a nice view of Granada.

  • Half-day trip to Lake Apoyo: Take a shuttle or book a private driver and venture to Paradiso Hostel, where you will enjoy some lakefront time at Lake Apoyo. Water is said to have healing powers. You can bet on a relaxing day at this serene spot. A day pass will include access to the lake with life vests and kayaks to enhance your time to explore.

  • Take a stroll through Parque Central de Granada: This quaint park is a centrally located area near restaurants and hotels. You can’t miss the brightly colored Catedral Imaculada Concepción de María.
