Curator’s statement
Jackson Hole is one of the premiere ski resorts in the country, and I recommend it to everyone who asks me where to ski or snowboard out west!
Why? Because the Jackson Hole Ski Resort does it right, they understand hospitality and the importance of creating a seamless experience for their guests.
The best way they do this is by limiting the number of skiers on the mountain each day. This means no lift lines or crowded trails. Combine all this with challenging and technical terrain, along with epic views (you are in the Grand Tetons, after all!) and you have the makings of an incredible ski or snowboarding trip.

Things to do in Jackson Hole
Skiing and Snowboarding at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Jackson Hole is a skier and snowboarder’s paradise. There’s no question about it. While the Jackson Hole Ski Resort is very expensive, with daily lift tickets starting at $225 per day, it is also one of the most technically challenging in terms of terrain. So if you want a ski trip where you can get after it, this is your mountain.
One of the great things about Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is that it accepts the IKON pass and offers discount lift tickets for those who buy in advance. I strongly recommend this because holidays and weekends sell out months in advance.
But if all of this planning sounds overwhelming, I have the solution! I recommend using a Fora Advisor like me because I can get discounts for an entire package, including accommodations, lift tickets, ski rentals and lessons. It’s a great way to get your trip booked seamlessly and quickly without any loose ends to worry about.
Don't ski or snowboard? No worries! Jackson Hole is a great jumping-off point for plenty of other outdoor winter activities.
Snowmobiling
Looking for a rush of adrenaline but skiing isn't your thing? Try snowmobiling. With miles of hills and mountains, the Jackson area landscape is perfect for cruising around on a snow mobile.
Snow Shoeing
On the opposite end of the spectrum is something a little more calm and peaceful, snow shoeing. It's a great exercise and you will definitely work up a sweat and appetite doing this.
Cross Country Skiing
Another great way to get the blood flowing is a cross country skiing excursion. With ample trails to choose from, you can get out into the back country and take in some gorgeous scenery and fresh air while getting an efficient workout.
Outdoor Natural Hotsprings
And after a day in the fresh mountain air, there’s nothing better than resting your weary muscles in a natural hot spring. My favorite place to visit is Astoria Hot Springs, where they have amenities including locker rooms, drinks and food.
Day Trip:
If you visit in the summertime, Yellowstone National Park is just over an hour away and an incredible day trip.

Persephone Bakery: The cutest, Instagram-ready cafe, great for breakfast, brunch and lunch.
