Where to stay

Unlock perks by contacting Kim to book your trip.

Day 1: Arrive in Kingston, Jamaica

Upon arrival in Kingston, you will transfer via winding roads into the hills of the Blue Mountains in St. Andrew. Your first stop will be in Irish Town, where you will stay for the entire trip. It is an ideal location to begin your journey and is conveniently close to many of the mountain's wonders. Choose to stay in a charming, small luxury boutique hotel offering stunning views, or opt for a mid-range, eco-friendly bed and breakfast by the river. Both options provide a cozy and memorable experience.

Day 2: Exploring nearby attractions and hiking trails

Start your day by exploring the nearby attractions and hiking trails. A short, 15–20 minute walk from the hotel will bring you to Craighton Estate, home of Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountain Coffee. Here, you’ll take a guided tour of the coffee plantation, learning about the coffee cultivation process. Enjoy a leisurely 45-minute trek around the estate, with a low-difficulty level hike through the lush surroundings. The tour costs USD $25.00 per person.

For a longer adventure, consider the Gordon Town Trail, a scenic 3-hour hike that follows the Hope River downhill. This trail offers stunning views and an opportunity to spot colorful local birds along the way. The hike costs around USD $130 for two people.

After your hikes, enjoy a meal at one of the local eateries in the area. You can visit Cafe Blue for a coffee break or try Crystal Edge for authentic local cuisine. Other options include the Redlight District, Mount Edge Guesthouse & EITS Cafe, RAF Jam, and Bagga Cooks, each offering a unique dining experience.

For the more adventurous, consider an early-morning sunrise hike to the peak of Blue Mountain. This option comes at an additional cost but promises unforgettable views and a truly exhilarating experience.

Day 3: Full day tour - art, culture and beach (Kingston & Lime Cay)

On day three, embark on a full-day tour exploring the vibrant art, culture and history of Kingston, followed by a relaxing beach visit at Lime Cay. The day begins with a comprehensive Kingston City Tour, which includes round-trip transportation for up to four people at USD $300.00. For each additional person, an extra fee of USD $30.00 will apply. This fee covers transportation for the entire city tour, which includes visits to several cultural and historical landmarks.

Your first stop will be the National Art Gallery, where you can immerse yourself in Jamaica's rich artistic heritage. The entrance fee is USD $10 per person. Next, head to Culture YAAAD in Trench Town. A site of significant cultural importance, where you’ll explore the birthplace of reggae and learn about its deep roots in Jamaican history. The entry fee for this stop is USD $15 per person.

Afterwards, visit Devon House, a historic mansion offering a glimpse into Jamaica’s colonial past, followed by a trip to Port Royal, the once-thriving pirate city. The entrance fee for Port Royal is USD $10 per person.

Finally, conclude your tour with a trip to Lime Cay, a small, serene island just off the coast of Kingston. A USD $30 fee covers the round-trip boat ride to the island, where you can relax on its pristine beaches or enjoy a swim in the turquoise waters before heading back to the city.

If the lines aren't too long, purchase Jamaica's KFC meal. Prefer the spicy and barbecue chicken variety and let me know if it is indeed the best!

Day 4: Full day tour — private riverside dining and adventure

On day four, immerse yourself in an unforgettable culinary and cultural experience with a Vegan/Ital Private Riverside Dining hosted by Chef Vita. This unique experience invites you to explore the Rastafarian tradition of Ital cooking. It is deeply rooted in natural, plant-based ingredients prepared over a wood fire.

Set by the serene blue waters of the river, Chef Vita will guide you through his craft, sharing his knowledge and passion for Ital cuisine. The entry fee for this experience starts at USD $100 per person. Providing a luxurious yet grounded atmosphere where you can savor a beautiful meal and learn about this treasured culinary tradition. After your meal, you can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. You can even take part in water activities like river rafting or tubing, or simply take a dip in the river.

For a more casual, laid-back experience, you can head to Pretty Close Ja in Gordon Town. This location, situated in St. Andrews, offers a cozy setting for those looking to unwind in a tranquil environment. Alternatively, RAF Jam Bed & Breakfast provides its own private river and a peaceful setting for a lovely lunch or relaxation by the water. Offering a variety of options to suit your mood.

If you're craving a beach day without the typical beach crowds, consider visiting Hellshire or Fort Clarence Beach. Known for some of the best fried and grilled seafood on the island, these beach locations offer a relaxed vibe with a focus on food. While the coastline has been affected by erosion due to global warming, the food remains a highlight. It's best to visit with a local guide to make the most of the experience.

Day 5: Free to explore and do!

On day five, enjoy a day of flexibility and relaxation, allowing you to choose how you’d like to spend your final day in Jamaica. If you’re in the mood for ultimate relaxation, consider a Spa Day at Strawberry Hill. Here you can unwind and rejuvenate with luxurious treatments while soaking in the breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains.

Alternatively, for those seeking a more active experience, you can embark on a Bicycle Tour with Blue Mountain Tours. Explore the scenic beauty of the mountains while enjoying an engaging and informative ride through the lush landscapes, with stops for coffee and a dip in a river. This day is entirely open for you to tailor to your preferences. whether you want to continue exploring the area, enjoy some last-minute shopping for souvenirs while supporting the locals or simply take in the natural beauty of Jamaica before wrapping up your festive trip. The choice is yours to make the most of your final day! Don't forget to take plenty of pictures of each experience.

Day 6: Departure

Plan for an early afternoon flight, if possible. Be sure to return with some treats! If you didn't get a chance to shop from local vendors, you can still purchase items at the Duty-Free shops, such as liquor, coffee or spices.

Need to know

The airport transfer from Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) takes approximately one hour. To make your arrival more seamless, it's a good idea to have the hotel take care of all your transportation needs. If possible, ask your driver to make a stop for a local treat. There’s nothing like enjoying a Jamaican patty or some jerk chicken as you land to kick off your trip with a taste of the island.
