Curator’s statement

Often overlooked for its livelier Greek counterpart Mykonos, Santorini is a dreamy respite for couples and honeymooners. There are endless ways to immerse yourself in the destination, whether it's through a local wine tour or sunset sail. Of course no trip to Santorini is complete without fresh seafood and Fava.

Day 1: Arrive in Oia

3-Day Santorini Itinerary - Day 1: Arrive in Oia

Whether arriving by ferry or plane, you'll want to think about transportation to the hotel in advance, especially when traveling during peak season (May - September). VIP Transfers & Tours is a reliable transfer company at a fair price.

Gyros are a perfect lunch for something quick + authentic. This is a can't-miss street food dish with meat cooked on a rotisserie and wrapped in pita bread with other ingredients like fresh veggies and tzatziki. Pitogyros Traditional Grill House is a favorite!

Smile for the camera at Santorini's famed Blue Domes Churches, right at the edge of the Caldeira. These are Instagram famous and make for a beautiful sunset photo opportunity.

Head down the cliffs for a late waterside dinner at Ammoudi Bay Fish Tavern and be sure to reserve in advance (request a table as close to the water as possible, you'll thank me later!).

Day 2: Spend the day in Fira

Santorini Sunset, Greece.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel - most hotels in Santorini include breakfast, especially when booking through Fora.

Hydrate and gear up for the hike from Oia to Fira. This takes a few hours and gets you up close and personal with some of the best views in all of Greece. It's very pedestrian friendly and if you're ready to call it quits throughout the hike, there are bus stops along the way to be picked up at.

Once you arrive in Fira, have lunch at the casual yet delicious Ouzeri. Share various mezes (small dishes) and soak up the unparalleled views of the Aegean Sea. The best part is you usually don't need a reservation for lunch here so you can make your way over from the hike at your leisure.

Take the bus or a taxi back to Oia. Wander around the nearby shops and streets before settling on a place for dinner. I highly recommend strolling into a place one night sans reservation - you'd be surprised by what you can find!

Day 3: Sailing excursion

3-Day Santorini Itinerary - Day 3: Sailing excursion

Head out on a morning sailing excursion via Sunset Oia. You'll have the chance to stop at different areas to swim such as Hot Springs, White Beach and Red Beach. You'll have everything you need on the boat from snorkeling gear and towels to meals and beverages. They also offer a sunset tour if that's more your speed.

Once you get back in the late afternoon, shower up and take a taxi to Santo Wines for sunset drinks + bites. It was recommended by Wine Enthusiast as the best place to taste wine in Santorini! They're known for Assyrtiko which is similar to Sauvignon Blanc. It's the perfect wine for sunset sipping.

Head to your hotel or a nearby one for a nightcap, or see what Santorini nightlife is like if that's your scene.
