Curator’s statement
My first clients with Fora were actually past clients from my previous business. They reached out for help planning their honeymoon in Spain, knowing they wanted to visit Barcelona and Mallorca but unsure about what to do and where to go. As a queer couple, their top priority was safety, but they also shared their love for incredible food, craft cocktails and coffee. They wanted a balance between sightseeing and scheduled downtime. I curated an itinerary that not only met all their needs but exceeded their expectations, blending cultural experiences, culinary highlights and moments of relaxation into an unforgettable trip.

Day 1: Check in & tapas tour
The trip began with a seamless check-in at the elegant Claris Hotel, offering my clients the perfect base for their Barcelona stay. After some time to rest and refresh, they explored the vibrant surroundings, including the nearby beachfront. Their evening plans featured a small group Barcelona night tapas tour with a flamenco show, a carefully chosen experience to immerse them in the city’s lively culture and culinary delights.
Day 2: Rooftop bar & elegant dinner
A relaxed morning allowed the couple to sleep in and enjoy a leisurely brunch. I arranged for them to visit Bar-Terraza Ayre, a rooftop bar with stunning views of the Sagrada Familia, where they enjoyed cocktails and light snacks. The evening included an elegant dinner at Sophie Gastrobar followed by cocktails at Aire Chicas to soak in the city’s dynamic nightlife.
Day 3: Walking & sightseeing
To offer a more active experience, I planned a day of walking and sightseeing, beginning with brunch at Firebug. The couple took the metro to the Templo del Sagrado Corazón, a landmark known for its panoramic views of Barcelona. Later, they relaxed during happy hour at Cervecería Catalana, followed by a lovely dinner at Jacqueline Barcelona to cap off the day.
Day 4: Boat ride & picnic
This day was designed for relaxation and exploration. They started with a visit to Santa Caterina Market, where they picked up picnic essentials. A short walk brought them to Parc de la Ciutadella, where I recommended a charming boat ride and picnic. In the afternoon, they indulged in a luxurious spa session at AIRE Ancient Baths, experiencing the “Love Connection” package. The evening was reserved for a romantic dinner and dancing — a perfect end to their stay in Barcelona.
Day 5: Travel to Valencia
The couple boarded a midday train to Valencia, checking into the stylish Only You hotel, where they had a surprise of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting in their room. Their afternoon was filled with exploration of Valencia’s iconic landmarks, including the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, La Lonja de la Seda, Valencia Cathedral and El Miguelete Tower.
Day 6: Shopping & beach visit
I recommended a morning in the trendy Ruzafa District, where they could enjoy hip cafes, colorful street art and boutique shopping. The afternoon was reserved for a relaxing visit to Malvarrosa Beach, perfect for unwinding by the sea.
Day 7: Gardens & history tour
The couple spent the day exploring the lush Turia Gardens, a scenic park that winds through the heart of Valencia. In the afternoon, they joined a shore excursion that I selected, combining ancient history with modern flavors through wine and tapas.
Day 8: Barrio del Carmen
For their final evening in Valencia, I suggested exploring Barrio del Carmen, a lively neighborhood with bustling bars and a vibrant atmosphere. And no trip to Valencia is complete without indulging on Paella at Alqueria del Pou.
Day 9: Arrival in Mallorca
Upon arrival in Mallorca, my clients checked into the five-star Can Ferrerta and enjoyed a day of relaxation by the pool, making use of the property’s amenities. Dinner was enjoyed onsite at the amazing Ocre restaurant, where they dined on freshly caught octopus and other local specialties.
Day 10: Catamaran excursion
The day started with breakfast in Palma before a Bay of Palma catamaran excursion, complete with lunch, snorkeling and picturesque sea views. After the excursion, they explored Palma’s charming streets, visiting local artists' studios and shopping markets, and ended the day with tapas at El Camino, a local favorite.
Day 11: Shopping & massages
For a more leisurely day, I recommended visiting the Santanyi Market to shop for local souvenirs, art and textiles. The afternoon was spent at their hotel’s spa, where they enjoyed a couple's massage and time together lounging in the sun by the pool, drinking rosé until day turned into night.
Day 12: Coastal hike
Their final day was packed with natural beauty and cultural charm. They visited Deia and embarked on the famous Valldemossa Hike, a five-mile trek offering stunning coastal views and lunch overlooking the sea. In the afternoon, they strolled through Valldemossa, shopping for gourmet souvenirs and exploring the quaint streets. To complete their adventure, they dined at the exquisite Taller Restaurant.
