Curator’s statement

Deer Valley is already known all over the world, but the magic you experience through the beauty of its nature is something you cannot describe. Deer Valley is within the beautiful city of Park City, Utah. Deer Valley is a ski-only mountain, which makes the ski experience a true après–ski moment. It has one of the best ski schools in all of the US, which everyone should take advantage of – from kids to adults at every ski level. During the ski season, the amount of snow will not disappoint, and the wealth of après-ski restaurants, bars and ski-in and ski-out resorts is a true luxury. For the non-skiers and the really young, the activities are endless – there's everything from amazing childcare programs, spas and shopping to fun snow adventures like horse carriage rides on the mountain, snow tubing and ice castles. As a mom of two little boys, Deer Valley is the perfect hub for families – not to mention the perfect getaway for couples or a fun girls' ski trip weekend!

Things to do in Deer Valley

Sleigh rides on snow with horses and mountains in the background.
  • Deer Valley Ski School: Top ski school in the US. Sign up in advance – they have the best team that can adjust scheduling conflicts or for any other reason. Best to hold your spot – trust me, they fill up quickly!

  • Woodward Park: This place is amazing for snow tubing adventures. For little ones five and under, they have an open play area that includes an indoor trampoline and foam pit park. Fun for the whole family!

  • Ice Castles in Midway, Utah: Make sure to book tickets towards the beginning and middle sessions. They are only available within a few weeks' time frame. While it still looked beautiful, I went towards the end of the operating season and the castles were melting.

  • Broken Arrow Sleigh Ride: When the ski mountains close for the evening, they open up for a magical horse-drawn sleigh ride. You can book group or private sleigh rides. I would recommend booking in advance because there are limited sleighs and space. You can choose to do just a sleigh ride – with kids that is a perfect option – or add on a dinner as well.

  • St. Regis Champagne Sabering: Every day at dusk, come see the St. Regis Champagne Sabering tradition with a beautiful view on the ski slopes.

I recommend making restaurant reservations at least a month in advance — ski season is busy!
