3 Day Italy Itinerary to Milan and Lake Como

Start your day with a visit to the iconic Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral). Explore this magnificent Gothic masterpiece, including the rooftop terrace for stunning views of the city. Adjacent to the Duomo is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the world's oldest shopping malls. Take a stroll through its elegant arcades and perhaps stop for a coffee or light lunch at one of the historic cafes.

In the afternoon, head to the nearby Piazza della Scala and visit the renowned Teatro La Scala Opera House for a guided tour to learn about its rich history and see the opulent interiors. Next, explore the charming Brera neighborhood and wander through its narrow cobblestone streets lined with art galleries, boutiques, and cafes.

Have dinner at one of the cozy restaurants in Brera, sampling more local specialties or opting for classic Italian favorites. Milan boasts a rich culinary heritage, blending traditional Lombard cuisine with influences from across Italy. Before calling it a night, take a leisurely stroll in Parco Sempione, a beautiful park near the imposing Sforza Castle. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and perhaps catch a glimpse of the illuminated castle.

On your last full day, take a day trip to Lake Como, located just a short train ride away from Milan. Start your day early to make the most of your time. Upon arrival in Como, take a scenic boat ride on Lake Como to admire its stunning landscapes and picturesque villages along the shoreline.

Explore the charming town of Bellagio, often called the "Pearl of Lake Como." Stroll through its narrow streets, visit the beautiful gardens of I Giardini di Villa Melzi and enjoy panoramic views of the lake. Have lunch at a lakeside restaurant, savoring fresh seafood and regional specialties while taking in the serene ambiance.
