Curator’s statement

The UEFA European Championships, also known simply as the Euros, are held every four years, such as Euro 2028. The tournament is hosted by a European country or multiple countries, with matches played across various cities in the host nation(s). The competition typically spans from mid-June to mid-July, covering approximately 30 days. It begins with a group stage where teams are divided into six groups. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage, and an additional six teams progress based on tiebreakers.

All you need to know about the Euros in Europe

Future hosts of the Euros

Euro 2024 was hosted by Germany. For Euro 2028, England and Ireland will co-host the event, with matches scheduled across England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Looking ahead to Euro 2032, Italy and Turkey will host the tournament, featuring matches in various cities throughout both countries.

The best way to attend the Euros

The optimal way to experience the Euros is through a package deal. I recommend waiting until the Semi-Finals and Finals to ensure a chance to witness the most impressive teams in action. These stages typically feature top-tier teams such as Spain, France, Germany and the UK.

Advantages of booking a package to the Euros

Booking a package offers several advantages, including accommodation and dedicated transfers between your hotel and the stadium on match days. Having attended numerous sporting events like Champions League matches in Tottenham, Wimbledon in England and Formula 1 races, I understand the challenges of navigating crowded public transport. Opting for a dedicated transfer reduces stress, ensuring a smoother experience to and from the stadium. Therefore, I strongly advise booking a package that includes accommodation, stadium transfers and tickets.

In addition to essentials like accommodation, transfers and tickets, packages may also offer add-ons such as VIP match day experiences. For travelers from the United States, securing tickets independently can be challenging due to the Euros' immense popularity in Europe. Booking a package is a reliable way to secure your tickets.

Why attend the Euro Semi-Finals or Finals?

While the group stages may take place in cities with fewer attractions or limited accommodations, the Semi-Finals and Finals are typically hosted in major cities. This provides ample opportunities to explore and enjoy the city before and after matches, maximizing your overall trip experience.
