Day 1: Explore Gyeongbokgung Palace & Museum

To get your visit off to an exciting start, we recommend a trip to the stunning Gyeongbokgung Palace. This ancient royal residence is known as the most beautiful and grandest of the five grand palaces that remain in Seoul. Stroll the grounds to take in the impressive architecture, as the palace provides a look into the Joseon Dynasty. After exploration of the palace, you should definitely visit the National Folk Museum of Korea. This educational experience provides an opportunity for visitors to learn about Korean culture and lifestyle through recreations of traditional scenes, artifacts and interactive displays.

Day 2: Park fun & Seoul views

For a unique outdoor experience, take a break in one of Seoul’s many parks. Namsan Park offers visitors an array of exciting activities, selling food and drinks, providing outdoor theater performances and even offering moonlight hiking. After, check out the N Seoul Tower to marvel at the beauty of Seoul from a different perspective; take pictures of the view from both the observatory and the revolving restaurant helipad!

Day 3: Shop Myeongdong & Dongdaemun delights

shopping streets of a city

If shopping is more your thing, head over to Myeongdong. This popular shopping district is filled with fashion boutiques and beauty stores that you can explore in addition to the area’s street food and cultural sights. Additionally, Dongdaemun Market is a great option for shoppers of all kinds; it is home to two department stores, a shopping complex and a large traditional market!

Day 4-5: Cultural gems & evening cruise

For those looking for an extra dose of culture on their trip to Seoul, there are many historical sites to explore. Changdeokgung Palace, built in 1405, is worthy of special note for its preservation of nature as well as architecture; it is one of South Korea’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. Finally, don’t forget to take a magical evening cruise on the Hangang River to wrap up your five-day visit!
