Day 1: Arrival & drive to Jackson Hole

Tori and her friends in casual clothes sitting on steps outside of a glamping tent in a golden field with blue sky overhead.

We arrived from the East Coast in the late afternoon, picked up our rental car and drove 25 minutes to our hotel in Jackson Hole to spend the night.

Day 2: Horseback ride & Yellowstone glamping

Tori and her friends sitting on horseback in front of a mountain scene.

We woke up early and headed to Yellowstone National Park. En route, stopped at Heart Six Ranch for a thrilling two-hour horseback riding tour through the breathtaking Teton Mountains. This was so much fun and I would highly recommend it. They did a brief lesson in the beginning teaching you how to ride the horses and then the tour took us through the mountains with some insane views. We had a lot of laughs on this tour.

Then, we continued driving for two and a half hours to Under Canvas for a night of unforgettable glamping in the heart of Yellowstone. We drove through Idaho, which was a very interesting experience, stopping on the side of the road to take pictures.

We enjoyed dinner at the on-site restaurant and ended the night with s'mores by the fire. The glamping was quite the experience but well worth it. It was very chilly at night, but they explained how to build a fire and we were bundled up and snuggling through the night. The sunset was amazing, too.

Day 3: Yellowstone exploration

Tori and her friends in sunglasses standing with their arms around each other in front of mountains on a clear day.

After breakfast, we ventured into Yellowstone, focusing on the West Rim of the park. We visited West Thumb Geyser Basin and witnessed the eruption of Old Faithful — occurring every 90 minutes — followed by a hike to Upper Geyser Basin.

We then explored Grand Prismatic Spring from Ferry Falls Trail and marveled at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone waterfall and Sapphire Pools.

We encountered a moose along the way. Due to a reported fire in the park, we experienced delays exiting but eventually drove back to Rustic Inn in Jackson Hole. To end the day, we stopped at Dornan’s in Moose for their outdoor food market.

Day 4: Cascade Canyon Trail hike

A mountainous landscape, accentuated by lush greenery and a clear, slightly hazy sky.

Started the day with coffee and breakfast at Persephone Bakery before going on a challenging hike in the Tetons. Hiked the Cascade Canyon Trail to Inspiration Point, passing Hidden Falls and crossing Jenny Lake to reach Lake Solitude. The 18-mile hike had spectacular views but required extra water and food. We then enjoyed dinner at The Granary, with a beautiful sunset over the Tetons.

Day 5: Phelps Lake & Mormon Row

A peaceful forest landscape with a reflective lake, towering evergreens, and a hazy mountain backdrop.

We woke up and opted for a shorter hike due to soreness from the previous day's trek. We hiked Death Canyon Trail to Phelps Lake, taking a refreshing dip and spotting a grizzly bears along the way, and explored Mormon Row and other viewpoints in Jackson. We ended the night with dinner downtown and drinks at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, along with some shopping.

Day 6: Return home

Mountains behind evergreen trees and rocks.

Flew back home, reminiscing about the unforgettable adventures in Jackson and Yellowstone.
