Curator’s statement
There's no better place to vacation in the winter than southwest Florida. My family has been going for years and I personally recommend Naples as a home base. With close proximity to major airports, the beach, opportunities for adventure and great options for shopping and dining, you can't miss with putting this city on your list.

Things to do in Naples, Florida
Everglades National Park
There are so many great ways to explore the Everglades. Kids love the airboat tour where they have a chance to see alligators and birds.
Naples Zoo
Walk the meandering path through the zoo to explore some of the wildlife of this area and some from beyond. Bonus that the zoo is set in a tropical garden.
Shopping on Fifth Avenue (Historic Fifth Avenue)
Spend the day dining and shopping on historic Fifth Avenue. You'll find luxury boutiques, art galleries and more. They also have special events going on throughout the year.
Naples' public beaches
Check out one of Naples' public beaches or enjoy the pool or beach at whichever hotel you choose. If staying at one of the Ritz properties, they offer a shuttle between the two so you can spend your day at the beach or the water park at the Tiburon location.
Golf courses in & around Naples
Play a round (or two) at one of the many courses in and around Naples. There are even several hotel properties located on golf courses as well.
Deep Sea Fishing
Reserve a spot on a boat for a day of deep sea fishing. Or better yet, charter your own for a more private experience.
Kayak or Paddleboard
What better way to get up close and personal with nature than on a kayak or paddleboard. Many properties have these for use, or you can go with an organized tour.
Sunset Cruise
You can't beat the sunsets from the beach (or water) in Naples. Be sure to take a sunset cruise and toast to your wonderful vacation.
Places to eat & drink in Naples, Florida
The French
This classic brasserie will make all your Francophile dreams come true. They also offer a great jazz brunch on Sundays. Sit outside and enjoy the people watching on Fifth Avenue.
Pazzo Italian Cafe
If pasta is more your style, try this Italian restaurant, also on Fifth Avenue. Stay for the fun vibe.
Three60 Market
They offer a dish for every taste at Three60 Market. Sit outside on the deck overlooking the water. Your furry friend is even allowed here.
Celebration Park
Across Haldeman Creek from Three60 Market is Celebration Park. It's an open air bar and food truck park with picnic tables. This is the perfect spot if you're looking for a more casual atmosphere. They have live music most nights.
Turtle Club
This restaurant is currently closed as they rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. But no guide to Naples is complete without it. Simply the best sunset views! Make your reservation so you can enjoy the sun going down. Or take your shoes off and walk out onto the beach before or after your meal.
The Boathouse
This is a great choice for casual waterfront dining. The restaurant is very family friendly. Kids and adults alike will enjoy watching the boats come in and out of the bay.
The Dock at Crayton Cove
Also on Naples Bay is The Dock at Crayton Cove. This seafood restaurant has been around for decades and is another family friendly option.
M Waterfront Grille
There's no shortage of waterfront dining options in Naples. This is a more upscale option with an excellent wine list.
