Things to do in London

An aerial view of London at night with lights, a sunset and water.

Historic Landmarks:

  • Buckingham Palace: No trip to London is complete without seeing the iconic, stately palace. Pro tip: If you visit between July to September yearly, make sure to purchase the tickets for The State Rooms, only open to the public during this time. You can also pop by the majestic Westminster Abbey after your visit to the palace.

  • Tower of London: The crown jewels are housed here and worth a viewing. While here, you’ll also want to stop by the notable Tower Bridge landmark.

  • London Eye: A ferris wheel with the perfect birds-eye view of the city.

Art & Culture:

  • Harry Potter Studio Tour: Located about an hour outside of central London is the magic of how Harry Potter was created. This is not an experience you will want to miss.

  • West End Theater Shows: Take a night and enjoy a broadway show at London’s famous west end. Our favorite we saw was Wicked!

  • Museums: Victoria & Albert, Tate Modern.

  • Abbey Road: Famous Beatles picture.

  • Harrods: The famous luxury department store in London. It also has amazing food stalls if you need a break from all of the fashion.

  • Borough Market: We loved this place so much that we went twice! Definitely check out Neal’s Yard for delicious grilled cheese.

  • Notting Hill: Adorable area to walk around with colorful buildings and great local fare and pubs.

  • Camden for Flea Markets: Great place to score a leather jacket!

  • High Tea: Recommendations include iconic Savoy Afternoon Tea and Kensington Palace.

Places to eat & drink in London

Cocktails:

  • Duke's Bar: The best table-side martini ever! Get here early to snag a coveted spot for a cocktail.

  • Cahoots: A dimly lit 1920’s speakeasy cocktail bar with live music.

  • Sketch: Stellar ambiance with multiple rooms and experiences. Grab a drink or go to the famous pink champagne room for high tea.

Restaurants:

  • Monmouth Coffee Company: A small cafe with delectable almond croissants and coffee.

  • Hunan: A multi-course Asian-inspired tasting menu, truly special and not to be missed!

  • Dalloway Terrace: A beautiful al fresco dining with an ornately decorated wall as the most desired spot to enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner in front of.

  • The River Cafe: A seasonal rotating menu always paired with perfectly prepared pasta and fresh cooked fish to be had.

  • The Churchill Arms Pub: While the outside decor is famously filled with flowers, inside you enjoy yourself a pint and a famous order of the fish & chips.

  • Hawksmoor: Upscale steakhouse, make sure to try their triple-cooked chips.
