Where to stay

Day 1: Roam around Austin

lake in urban city

Start your day with the fuel you need at Cenote, an all-day cafe with French pressed coffee and farm-fresh American eats. From there, head to Ann & Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail, where you can walk or bike this scenic route along Lady Bird lake, or rent a kayak to explore the lake itself.

Walk towards Rainey Street and stop by Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden for their excellent selection of craft beer, house-made sausages, outdoor seating, and live music.

To close out the day, head to Geraldine’s rooftop on the fourth floor of the Hotel Van Zandt to see stunning views of Lady Bird Lake. The bar features live music and an innovative menu of craft cocktails and small plates/entrees. If you’ve still got energy in you, weave in and out of the bars along Rainey Street.

Day 2: Foodie tour

Grab some breakfast tacos at Veracruz al Natural, one of Austin’s best food trucks, before heading to South Congress. Take a walk through this trendy neighborhood, browsing the many boutiques, shops, and street art.

To continue your foodie experience, grab a late lunch at any of the these spots along South Congress Ave: Aba for Mediterranean, Perla’s Seafood & Oyster Bar, Guero’s Taco Bar for Tex-Mex, or Hopdoddy Burger Bar.

Head to a new neighborhood and kick off your own brewery bar crawl in East Austin by checking out the following: Lazarus, Zilker, and Blue Owl.

Close the night with live music on Dirty Sixth Street.

Day 3: BBQ, mini golf & cocktails

Start your last day with an early lunch at Terry Black’s Barbecue to avoid the longest lines.

After some of the best BBQ, walk over to Peter Pan Mini-Golf, for some friendly competition, or further along to Barton Springs Pool to enjoy a relaxing afternoon swimming in the natural spring-fed pool.

If the competitive spirit was there, the winner should vote to enjoy some refreshing rooftop margaritas and guacamole at El Alma before heading back to your hotel to change.

Finish out this incredible trip with a romantic dinner at Justine's Brasserie, a French bistro known for its delicious food and intimate ambiance.
