Things to do in Bilbao
One of the must-visit attractions in Bilbao is the Guggenheim Museum. Designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, the museum is a masterpiece of contemporary architecture, and houses a collection of modern and contemporary art.
Another popular spot is the Casco Viejo, or Old Town, where you can wander through narrow, winding streets and sample traditional pintxos, the Basque version of tapas.
For a taste of local culture, catch a performance of the traditional Basque dance, the jota. It's a lively and colorful spectacle that will leave you in awe.
Day Trips
San Sebastián, just 1 hour away from Bilbao by car. If you're planning a trip to this beautiful city.
San Sebastián, also known as Donostia in Basque, is the perfect destination for those seeking a mix of city life and beach relaxation. Start your day with a stroll along the famous La Concha beach, known for its stunning views and picturesque promenade.
Next, head to the Old Town, or Parte Vieja, for a taste of traditional Basque cuisine. Indulge in some pintxos, the famous small snacks that come in a variety of flavors, and are perfect for sharing with friends.
In the afternoon, make your way to Mount Urgull for a scenic hike and panoramic views of the city.
Places to eat & drink in Bilbao
Bilbao
La Viña del Ensanche is a charming tapas bar with a cozy atmosphere. Their extensive menu offers a variety of delicious Spanish dishes, including their famous croquetas. The friendly staff and laid-back vibe make this a must-visit spot in Bilbao.
For a taste of traditional Basque cuisine, head to Restaurante Txakoli Simón. They specialize in seafood dishes and their Txakoli wine, both of which are a must-try when in Bilbao.
Last but not least, we have Café Iruña, a historic café and restaurant that has been serving traditional Basque dishes since 1903. This iconic spot is a must-visit for its charming ambiance and delicious food.
