Day 1: Denver Botanical Gardens (a must-do for any weekend in Denver!)
Time to kick off your weekend in Denver! On your first full day in the Mile High City, head to Jelly Cafe in Capitol Hill for a breakfast you will not soon forget. There may be a wait, especially on the weekends, but it is completely worth it for the donut bites alone. The portions are big & they even have gluten-free pancakes on the menu. The chilaquiles and the breakfast burrito are also excellent.
Pass through Chessman Park on your way to the Denver Botanical Gardens (another weekend favorite) where you can catch a lunchtime yoga class, a summertime concert or simply enjoy the flowers.
Save up your energy for a night of wonder. First, get a deliciously sustainable dinner at Potager. Then head over to Meow Wolf Convergence Center - an immersive mind-bending, psychedelic art experience that you do not want to miss. You do need to book a ticket to enter, so make sure to time your arrival beforehand.
Day 2: Sightseeing around Denver
Wake up and smell that fresh air! Time to head over to Syrup City Park or Denver Biscuit Company for a big Mountain breakfast.
Take a walk in Denver's famous city park while you decide between going to The Denver Art Museum or going on a self-guided tour of the city's best neighborhoods. If you choose the latter make sure you visit The Dairy Block, Santa Fe, Larimer Square, River North Arts District and Union Station. There are so many places to explore in Denver, and it could be hard to fit them all in one weekend. So you might want to try visiting half before lunch and half after.
For lunch, head over to the Denver Milk Market where you will find 15 unique restaurant concepts under one awesome roof. Each offers something different and delicious to delight even the most discerning palette. This spot is another weekend favorite in Denver, but all of the options are sure to please everyone in your group.
If you are less inclined to explore the different areas of the city consider lining up your visit with a Colorado Rockies (MLB), Colorado Rapids (MLS), Denver Nuggets (NBA) or Denver Broncos (NFL) home game. Depending on the season, at least one of these teams will likely have a weekend home game in Denver.
If you are not into sports but love a good beer spend your afternoon and evening checking out one of Denver's many amazing breweries such as Wynkoop Brewing Company, Prost Brewing Co & Beirgarten or Renegade Brewing.
Day 3: Cannatour & explore Denver's museums
If you are able to plan a long weekend in Denver then day 3 is where all the magic happens. You can take a cannatour to the different dispensaries to get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the cannabis industry. Or can do your own tour, I recommend visiting The Original Star Buds and Denver Kush Club.
The Denver Museum for Nature and Science or Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum would be a great place to go after your exciting morning. If science is not your thing then go check out the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art. All of these spots are popular Denver weekend spots, but they are spacious enough that you should have plenty of room to explore.
For the final dinner of your weekend in Denver, head to The Wolf's Tailor or Guard and Grace. After dinner end head to another amazing speakeasy. If you want a more classic vibe head to Williams and Graham with its bookshelf entry and dark wood decor, or if you are looking for something a little more futuristic cool with a modern twist then you should head to the Cruise Room. Drink lots of water, remember to check in for your flight, and start planning your next visit to the Mile High City!
