Advisor - 8 Spectacular Golf Courses for a Las Vegas Golf Weekend
Curator’s statement

If you’ve been to Las Vegas as many times as I have over the years, there is only so much you can do during the day to kill time. Sure, you can hang out by the pool, gamble or do a helicopter tour, but have you considered golf?

Las Vegas is home to several top golf courses. When it’s not blistering hot in the summer months, the weather in Las Vegas can be ideal for a round of golf. It’s a perfect scenario to play a round of golf during the day, head back to the Las Vegas Strip for dinner and then spend a night out or at a football game, basketball game or sporting event. Then, repeat the same for the next day.

Adding a golf trip to Las Vegas can easily be coupled with whatever else is happening in the sports world. This could include the Final Four, a UFC match, a fantasy football draft, an NFL game at Allegiant Stadium and more.

For a four-day weekend, you could fit in about three rounds of golf. Below, find eight spectacular golf courses to consider for a Las Vegas weekend, including one that is frequently mentioned as a bucket list and Top 100 Golf Courses list in the United States.

Things to do in Las Vegas

Only one golf course requires a stay at a resort to play. The majority of the courses are within close proximity of the Las Vegas Strip, or at least 30 minutes away with the exception of Wolf Creek, which is an hour from Las Vegas. Here are the top golf courses for a Las Vegas Golf Weekend:

  • Shadow Creek Golf Course (Public)

    • Frequently ranked in the top 100 list of golf courses in the United States. Known for its lush landscaping and water features, this exclusive course requires a stay at an MGM Resort property and comes with a premium price. There are 13 MGM Resorts so you should not be a problem. The green fees can be quite high in peak season, up to $1,250+. The MGM Resort I would recommend would be the Bellagio.

  • Wolf Creek Golf Club (Public)

    • Located in Mesquite, about an hour from Las Vegas, this course is famous for its dramatic elevation changes and scenic desert views. Located an hour from Las Vegas.

  • Cascata Golf Club (Public)

    • Located in Boulder City, this luxury course is owned by Caesars Entertainment and offers a stunning desert and mountain backdrop with water features and streams. There are no requirement to stay at a Caesars Entertainment course.

  • TPC Las Vegas (Public)

    • A former PGA Tour venue, TPC Las Vegas is known for its championship layout, pristine conditions and beautiful desert scenery.

  • Bali Hai Golf Club (Public)

    • Located right on the Las Vegas Strip, this tropical-themed course features palm trees, white sand bunkers and convenient access for Strip visitors.

  • Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort (Public)

    • About 30 minutes from the Strip, Paiute offers three highly rated courses—Snow Mountain, Sun Mountain and Wolf—all with beautiful desert and mountain views.

  • Angel Park Golf Club (Public)

    • This accessible course has two 18-hole courses designed by Arnold Palmer, along with a lighted par-3 course, perfect for players of all levels.

  • Rio Secco Golf Club (Public)

    • Located in Henderson, Rio Secco provides a challenging layout with desert and canyon landscapes and offers the Butch Harmon School of Golf for those looking to improve their skills.

  • Why isn't the Wynn Golf Course on the list?

    • The Wynn Golf Club is a nice course. It requires you to stay at the Wynn. However, the Wynn Golf Club has not made any top lists due to the criteria of making a list of top courses. If you are staying at the Wynn, by all means, play at the Wynn Golf Club.

  • How long should you plan for a golf trip to Las Vegas?

    • I would plan for four days. There are other courses in the vicinity of Las Vegas, but these are in proximity to Las Vegas.

  • How much should I budget for a golf trip to Las Vegas?

    • Hotels typically have a lower rate throughout the week, and your chances of getting a tee time might be better. If you are planning on playing Shadow Creek then golf will be about $1,800, factoring food and hotel depending on the hotel.

If you are ready to plan a Las Vegas weekend that includes golf or other sports activities, fill out the form below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
