Curator’s statement
I had no preconceived notions of Singapore. Anthony Bourdain changed that for me a few years ago and this destination made it to the top of my bucket list. After my very first visit just one year ago, I can't seem to have gotten enough. There is so much that Singapore has to offer and one huge thing is diverse, delicious food along with experiencing multiple cultures all in one day in this island state.

Things to do in Singapore
Visit the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. After seeing the movie Crazy Rich Asians, how can you not. This unbelievable hotel was built within the past 20 years and has everything — a rooftop pool, bar and extensive gardens that surround the property.
Do a private walking tour of Singapore itself. While this island state is less than 100 years old, it has such a fascinating history.
Visit the many Hawker centers throughout Singapore. This is the part of the trip that inspired Anthony Bourdain's trip and his focus on delicious, unique food. The Hawker by Chinatown is the best in my opinion. I would love to hear yours!
Visit Little India. Within Singapore are many different neighborhoods that each focus on a different part of the world. Little India Singapore is one of the largest Indian neighborhoods outside of India and you won't be disappointed.
Beach day at Sentosa Island. If you are full from all of the food and are looking for a relaxing beach day, Sentosa Island is a perfect match and easy to get to from the city center.
Shop on Orchard Road, the famous shopping district within Singapore.
Visit the famous Raffles hotel for a Singapore Sling.
Places to eat & drink in Singapore
Breakfast
Try Ya Kun for some of Singapore's most famous butter toast
Lunch/Dinner
Any Hawker center that is located throughout Singapore. Like I mentioned above, my favorite is in Chinatown.
Eat at Ho Kee Pau for some amazing dim sum!
For chicken and rice, which is a must-try: Wee Nam Kee in United Square
For laksa, another must-try: the highly rated Sungei Road Laksa
High Tea
TWG Tea in the Marina Bay Sands or Bugis Junction
Drinks
The Raffles hotel — try the famous Singapore Sling!
Need to know
While I have only been to Singapore once, I plan on going back multiple times. Singapore ranks to me as one of the most fascinating and exciting cities on the planet. While Hong Kong is going through some challenges right now, Singapore has really stepped up and has become the gateway to Asia.
