Things to do in Palm Springs

Sightseeing

Aerial Tramway - Palm Springs - Taking the iconic aerial tramway up to Mountain Station is a thrilling ride with breathtaking views. At the top, you will find activities for the whole crew, including hiking trails, cafés, restaurants, a bar and a cute gift shop. It's best to take your time and enjoy the scenery.

Moorten Botanical Gardens - A breath of fresh air and native desert greenery, the Morten Botanical Gardens is a small but mighty stop to wander around. After a quick one-mile Andreas Canyon Trail loop, this is a nice cool-down stroll. It doubles as a nursery, so be prepared to leave with some new succulent friends.

Living Desert Zoo & Gardens - I absolutely loved this zoo. I recommend going in the morning when they open as it gets busy and hot in the afternoons. Also, the feedings happen in the morning, so the animals will be out and about more! (PS: Don’t miss the wallabies or the giraffes.)

Shopping

Mojave Flea Trading Post - On the outskirts of Palm Canyon Drive, this shop is filled with various unique lifestyle brands for every shopper. This is one of my favorite stops in Palm Springs. Little bit of vintage, little bit of kiddo things, little bit of home decor. They have it all.

Villagefest - This Thursday night market attracts all travelers. It takes place in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, on Palm Canyon Drive. With over 180 vendors, you won’t be short of finding something delicious or unique.

The Street Fair - Taking place on weekends in the covered parking lot of a college campus, this street fair seems underrated. However, it is a great place to start your day. Before the crowds and the heat, you can take a nice walk around the lot and leave with a special memento.

The Clubs

PSYC (Palm Springs Yacht Club) - Within the grounds of the Parker Palm Spring estate is their luxurious spa. You can pick your own excursion (pre-packaged), or select individual massages, facials, and even manicures/pedicures. A much-needed self care day is spent at the PSYC.

PSSC (Palm Springs Surf Club) - Need a break from the heat? This is the perfect stop. For a $20 admission fee, PSSC’s water-focused location feature a lazy river, outdoor lounges, and a number other fun water attractions for kids and adults alike. You can also take surf lessons that range from $100-$200 depending on the instructors skill level. They have boards and gear for rent as well.

Breakfast/Brunch

Amala @ Palm Springs Surf Club - Opened in early 2024, this place is a Palm Desert oasis. Not only is it part of the Palm Springs Surf Club, so you can enjoy some water features and surfers while you dine, you can also enjoy the restaurant admission for free. I love this place for Sunday brunch, but they also offer lunch, dinner, and there is also a bar on the property.

Norma’s at Parker Palm Springs - This restaurant’s rich breakfast/lunch menu, and minimal, yet fresh evening menu, calls attention with its bright, colorful, and open-air terrace. The lush foliage and surrounding greenery allow you to fully sit back and relax while dining here.

Sheman’s Deli & Bakery - Not only is this place already note-worthy from the Food Network, but it screams "classic diner" in the best way. From a simple eggs Benedict, to crazy good waffles, and pancakes, you really can’t go wrong dining at this place for breakfast.

Lunch/Dinner

French Corner Cafe - This is your new favorite hole in the wall restaurant but also an amazing French patisserie. Whether you dine in or take a croissant to-go, you will not be disappointed.

Tylers - This restaurant, which is quite literally in the middle of Palm Springs, sports a unique atmosphere and great burgers. I recommend their homemade potato salad and fresh lemonade as well.

Birba - Birba caught my attention for the popularity of their homemade pizzas, but I found it to be great overall, for Italian food. The pastas are handmade, and you can tell! The appetizers are just as delicious, and I love the cozy vibe of this place in the evening.

Drinks

Boozehounds - Is a super fun, dog-friendly bar, and more. They offer great food for dinner, and a weekend brunch menu. The outdoor space is picturesque but has an indoor atrium as well.

High Bar @ Rowan Hotel - This is Palm Springs’ only rooftop bar with a pool. It is the ultimate bar to grab a drink, chat with friends, and take in the sunset views. Lounging on the deck, either during day or in the evening, is highly recommended.
