Day 1: Lucha Libre

Arrive in CDMX and head over to your hotel. Go shopping on Avenida Presidente Masaryk in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City. If you do not like shopping, try any of the local cafes or restaurants in the area. Don’t forget to try the churros at Churrería El Moro.

After you are settled, it is time to immerse yourself in an electrifying experience of a Lucha Libre, the heart and soul of Mexican wrestling culture. From the moment you step into the arena, you're enveloped in a whirlwind of vibrant masks, colorful costumes and pulsating energy. The atmosphere is electric as fans cheer on their favorite luchadores, witnessing acrobatic feats, dramatic showdowns, and the iconic high-flying moves that define this unique sport. It's a thrilling spectacle that captures the passion and excitement of Mexican tradition, leaving an unforgettable impression long after the final bell rings. Day 2: Xochimilco & Coyoacán

Start your day early to beat the crowds and head to Xochimilco, known for its picturesque canals and colorful trajineras (boats). Embark on a leisurely boat ride through the scenic canals, surrounded by floating gardens and mariachi music. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Islas de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls), a unique and slightly eerie attraction adorned with hundreds of dolls hanging from trees.

After your morning in Xochimilco, head over to Coyoacán, a charming neighborhood with cobblestone streets and colonial architecture. Take a stroll through the vibrant streets of Coyoacán and find a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional Mexican lunch.

While you are in Coyoacán, visit the Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa Azul), the former home of the iconic artist Frida Kahlo. Spend a couple of hours exploring the museum, which showcases Kahlo's life, art, and personal belongings.

Day 3: History & Culture

Begin your day with a visit to the Castillo de Chapultepec, a historic castle perched atop Chapultepec Hill. Explore its fascinating exhibits showcasing Mexican history and enjoy the best panoramic views the city has to offer! Next, head to the renowned Anthropology Museum, home to a vast collection of pre-Columbian artifacts and exhibits highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Mexico's indigenous peoples. In between or after, take a leisurely stroll through Chapultepec Bosque, one of the largest urban parks in the world. Enjoy the serene surroundings, lush greenery, and perhaps a boat ride on the park's lake. In the evening, indulge in some shopping and dining in either the La Condesa or Roma neighborhoods.

Day 4: Architecture & Art

Today you will get a glimpse into the rich history, culture, and architecture of Mexico City, ensuring you make the most of your day in this vibrant capital.

Start your day at the iconic cultural center, Palacio de Bellas Artes. Admire its stunning architecture and explore the art exhibitions inside. From Bellas Artes, take a short walk to the Zócalo, one of the largest public squares in the world. Marvel at the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace. Next, dive into Mexico City's ancient history with a visit to the Templo Mayor archaeological site and explore the ruins of the Aztec temple complex and learn about the city's pre-Hispanic roots.

For lunch, wander through the bustling street Calle 5 de Mayo, lined with restaurants and cafes. Sample some authentic Mexican cuisine for lunch and soak in the lively atmosphere.

After lunch, head to Paseo de la Reforma to see the iconic Angel of Independence monument. Snap some photos and take in the bustling energy of Mexico City's main thoroughfare. Then conclude your day with panoramic views of the city from the observation deck of Torre Latinoamericana. Marvel at the sprawling metropolis below and reflect on your whirlwind tour of Mexico City's highlights.

Day 5: Teotihuacan

Spend your last full day in Mexico City on a day trip to Teotihuacan, an ancient Mesoamerican city famed for its pyramids. The ancient ruins of Teotihuacan, with its towering pyramids and sacred temples, offer a profound glimpse into Mexico's rich cultural heritage. Climbing the Pyramid of the Sun, walking along the Avenue of the Dead, and exploring the archaeological wonders evoke a sense of awe and wonder, leaving you with lasting memories of this extraordinary site as you bid farewell to Mexico City. If you are up for an early morning, you can do a sunrise hot air balloon ride or a full day trip to explore the area.
