The MLB All-Star Game, also known as the Midsummer Classic, is typically held in mid-July. Until 2017, the winner of the MLB All-Star Game was awarded home-field advantage for the World Series, but this rule has since been scrapped. Despite its non-competitive nature, the MLB All-Star Game remains a premier event showcasing the finest baseball talent. Numerous events lead up to the main game.

How to enjoy the MLB All-Star Game
The MLB All-Star festivities span several days, starting with events on the Friday before the game:
Friday – HBCU Swingman Classic: Showcases baseball talent from Division-1 programs at Historically Black Colleges & Universities.
Saturday – Capital One All-Star Village: A fan festival open from Saturday to the All-Star Game on Tuesday, offering a unique baseball theme park experience.
Saturday – All-Star Saturday: Features the Futures Game and the new Futures Skills Showcase, where top MLB prospects compete. The All-Star Celebrity Softball Game follows, with celebrities and MLB legends playing softball.
Sunday – MLB Draft: Takes place behind the scenes until Tuesday.
Monday – All-Star Workout Day: Includes batting practice for AL and NL All-Stars, culminating in the Home Run Derby, a highlight of the weekend.
Tuesday – All-Star Day: Features the MLB All-Star Game itself.
How to plan for the MLB All-Star Game
For the best experience, plan for four days and three nights (arriving Sunday and departing Wednesday). This allows time to explore the All-Star Village, attend the Home Run Derby and watch the MLB All-Star Game. If you wish to catch additional events like the Futures Game and Legends & Celebrity Softball Game, consider adding an extra night.
