Curator’s statement
My first stop in Savannah was a day trip while on vacation in Hilton Head. I was so captivated with the deep history, great cuisine, ghost stories and of course, the 'to-go drinks'. After that single day, I booked a weekend trip to go back for more time to explore. As a big fan of New Orleans, Savannah felt like it's buttoned-up older sibling. Immerse yourself in Georgia's coastal region.

Things to do in Savannah
Hop on/hop off: Take a historic trolley tour to get familiar with the layout of this beautiful city. There are 16 stops to explore, and will take around 90 minutes round trip if you don’t get off at any of them. Learn about the dramatic history of the city.
River Street: River Street sits along the Savannah River and dates back to the early 1700’s when it was a shipping harbor. There are now hotels, restaurants and shops lining the waterfront for locals and tourists alike. Look out for many of the historical relics that still remain. Either get off on this stop of the hop on/hop off tour, or head down on your own to explore Savannah’s waterfront.
Forsyth Park: Explore the 30 acres of city park, best known for its iconic fountain. Find paths for walking or jogging, a flower garden, sports facilities like tennis and basketball courts, and keep an eye out for local musicians that perform.
Have a picnic: Speaking of Forsyth, get in touch with one of Savannah's picnic companies. Have them set up a lunch for you and your travel companions.
Haunted pub tour: Experience Savannah after dark. Savannah is known as one of the most active paranormal locations in the world. Explore some of Savannah’s Historic District’s most spooky spots and learn about the city’s eerie past.
Savannah City Market: One of Savannah’s most popular attractions. Do some shopping, check out some local eats or join one of the many events that are often hosted there.
Tybee Island: Don’t miss out on a beach day while you’re in Savannah! There’s a few different beaches to choose from. I prefer South Beach, vibrant and busy with its pier for picturesque views. Stop by Wet Willie’s or Frannie’s on the beach to get a to-go drink. Take your quiz here to figure out which beach is right for you!
Fort Pulaski National Monument: On your way to or from Tybee Island, stop by to immerse yourself in history on Cockspur Island. This national monument marks a turning point in Military History. Learn more about this landmark in the abundance of indoor and outdoor activities that Fort Pulaski offers.
